Sorry for the delayed response! FC63 is described to us as similar to AEB-L, but it is a powder steel so it is infact superior since it has a finder carbide structure. This allows it to be tempered to a higher rockwell of about 63 and, like AEB-L, can hold the edge without chipping easily. We have found these to be the best knives currently being made by Zwilling and they are exclusive to Cutlery and More!

@@thorwaldjohanson2526 MC63 is similar to SG2/R2, if 13c26/ AEB-L is ”powdered” and hardened to 63hrc it may be very very good supersteel-like. May not as good edge retention than SG2 but far better toughness and easier to sharpen.
