Brilliant tutorial, well done! Just a question on the EQ Mod cable - you mention that you use this cable as opposed to the Synscan hand held unit - does the cable replace the Synscan completely, and does the ASIAIR provide the same functionality as the Synscan? Apologies for the simple question, but I'm just starting out and have bought the ASIAIR plus, along with a ZWO 662 MC camera. I have a Saxon MAK 127/1500 telescope. Thanks ! 🙂

Thank you very much for your tutorial, very clear and explanatory, I recently bought the ASIAR Plus, ASI294MC Pro main camera and ASI174MM Guide camera, I want to ask you a question; I have a Celestron CGX-L mount with wifi external module, is it possible to connect the CGX-L mount via wifi to the ASIAIR Plus instead of using a cable to the mount's handcontrol?

Thank you for your feedback. Unfortunately at this point in time the only way to connect to an ASIAIR is using the wired hand controller, and doing a one-star alignment to engage the handshake between the Celestron and ASIAIR then you are able to control your rig wirelessly via the ASIAIR wifi signal that it generates.

Nice tutorial, I just bought the ASI air plus with the am5 mount. I am a bit confused on how the calibration frames are done. I was using a mirrorless camera so it was easy to make changes but now with the zwo camera, it excuse the pun, I am in the dark. Can you explain

I use the mini. And I think i should have the plus. I haven't had any issues with it running the mount.

Nice presentation. Could you please advise what is the purpose of the RJ45 port ? Thank you
@OpticsCentralAustralia2 жыл бұрын
Hey Andreas, You can use the RJ45 port to connect your router and the ASIAIR plus if you find your wireless connection to be poor. :)

This is a absolutely wonderful piece of kit. Before , I had to connect my computer to run my 071mc pro, 120mc-s and cgem mount. Now I can Simply not do anything because ASIAIR plus fried my Nexstar plus hand controller, no replies from zwo, and can’t even get a new hand controller untill sometime next year according to opt telescopes. It’s usb, you can’t plug it in wrong. Had separate power to mount and air plus. The real problem is Celestron mounts just suck. However zwo knows that and says the ASIAIR is good to go. I have owned this mount brand new for 8 years. Didn’t even know it would produce error codes untill I plugged in air plus . Error code 15,16,17. Backlights are dead, and hand control randomly says its not correct hand control for the mount. Probably just a coincidence?
