After 3 years of waiting the new ZX Spectrum Next Issue 2 has arrived after all sorts of problems with the production. This is a 1st look at the contents and to see how it compares to the Clive Sinclair classic from the 1980s

lol i can beat your kickstarter time delay pain, I have an a1200 that I brought off ebay and i was looking into options that was all nasty looking and the sun had perished the plastic case and keys as pretty much else does, i was looking at whitening the plastic but found that it goes back off so i found a brand new case supplier that uses some sort of the old tools or something and it also is impervious to sun and should stay looking brand new, this supplier also did a set of brand new keys and i missed the first kickstarter but kept my eyes on it because they did a 2nd set so as soon as i got a sniff they were doing another campaign i order them this was back in 2019 and i got earlier this year so it took 4 years for mine to arrive its extremely frustrating when things end up going badly wrong but the good thing is it gets there in the end the extreme wait makes you appreciate it.

Night Knight is a great game, i play it all the time on MSX emulator, it's one of the few games I'll even play on my phone too. The Next looks great. I have the MiSTer core, would love that actual computer though, nice looking hardware

I have one too. I started unboxing it just like you, but I stopped right at seeing the cellophane wrapped box and said to myself: "change of plans - under the X'mas tree !". I'm so going to love the sound of the three soundchips in action ! Anyway, thanks for the unboxing video, the first I watched and enjoy. Participated in two kickstarter projects in my life; the first one I lost all the money and I kind of found myself -with hindsight- a bit naive to have actually believed in what was promised at the time, so I felt partially responsible for my own loss, but the second kickstarter was this one and I never lost confidence in it and I also didn't feel like I was going to die in the meantime. Like some backers out there. I'm not joking, that was a concern some had, but not me, 'cause I'm titanium ! ;-)

Fortuitously, mine arrived just on my 70th birthday! :D I too had concerns, but of a different nature: You see, I live in Denmark, and I was worried that after Brexit, I might have to pay import and tax fees, which I can't afford at the moment, which would then result in the Next being sent back. However, and to my immense relief, no such thing happened, and I am therefore now the very happy owner of my very own Next.

I got my Next and 40 Best Machine Code Routines book on the same day! I also got no dispatch notice for either so they were both unexpected, a great early Xmas present for myself! 😃👍👍

Also btw you missed one more floor block to the right of the door 😊 once you'd covered that, a key appears, you get that and _then_ make way to the door. I hope you played Night Knoght again since, it gets a lot more challenging after level 5 or so

Looks very nice. If they ever release them for sale in main stream shops then I would purchase one (or three lol). I just won't take any more chances on kickstarter's though after being burned a few times...

The Table of Contents is on page 309 before the index...It always helps to read the manual before giving out incorrect information on it lol :p
