Yeah you go ahead and listen to him over those who Engineered it. It’s not the breaking in it’s the wear pattern that the engine creates that’s why you break in an engine. If your doing 500 mile oil changes then fine but. Break in is key to how it will sing for the life of the bike. I’ll listen to those who built it versus someone who rides it. And failure has never happened to them.

Stunning bike, can’t wait till it hits Europe, nothing wrong breaking in a bike and going through the revs, I’ve done it on all mine and I’m a mechanic, I just wouldn’t push it till it revs out, I had a ninja 2014 ninja 636 brand new and I rode the FK out of it from day one and never had an issue and the guy I sold it 2 has never had an issue either, 💪🏻

@@kidlo2050 absolutely makes sense, was even considering a Kawasaki klx230sm dual sport due to the fact the bike weighs only 299lbs. Received license a month ago yet no bike Just don’t want to injure myself severely.

Thank you for the excellent video. If any one writes a song about the bike it will be called "Sweet Little Screamer". The ZX4RR is worth the price just for the wonderful sound it makes and then you also get all the extra premium features . I do not want to mention this and sorry for doing so, but I am pretty sure they have invented a thing called traffic stop signs. "Let the good time roll".

The ZX-4RR is indeed restricted to 53 HP @ 11,500 RPM for US and Canadian markets (still revs right to 16,000 rpm). Has been confirmed by 2 Wheel DynoWorks kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4ibdapunJmfiaM They have taken out the restrictions in the ECU to get a 21 wheel HP gain Stock.

Trey since you own both bikes, and track your Ninja 400, is the zx4rr worth double the price? Is the zx4rr good to buy if you don't plan on tracking it much, and mostly for the street?

I think it is better than the ninja 400 in every way....the only exception of course being price. It's hard to answer, yes it's a good bike to buy... is it worth it? Really comes down to what kind of motorcycle experience you desire. For me personally, I wouldn't want a ninja 400 for the street at this point in my riding career. But I could very much so enjoy the zx4rr as a street bike. That doesn't mean there aren't other choice that could be just as good or better. My Z900 has more fun power and comfort but the zx4rr has more fun handling and tech (quickshift + autoblip)...all comes down to what kind of experience you want.

Mate you're using the quickshifter wrong. You're supposed to keep the throttle pinned open while shifting. The advantage of a quickshifter over clutchless shifting is that you can shift while full throttle in only a fraction of a second while clutchless shifting you chop off the throttle for a brief moment letting off on your power and loosing about half a second to shift.

Great video. I look forward to picking mine up in June. Q: why twist the throttle shut on upshifts with the quick shifter? And I assume there is no need to use the clutch lever at all unless you are stopping or starting, given also the auto blip/rev-match downshifts for precise clutchless downshift gear engagements. This is my first time using quick up- and downshifter, so just making sure my assumptions are all correct, or I risk ruining my tranny on a new bike. In short, some of the things you’re doing in the video are due to habit from other bikes, but not out of necessity for this bike, correct? Thanks!

Lol I just kept forgetting about the quickshifter, I usually roll off and clutchless shift on my other bikes. Over 30k miles of habit that I gotta adjust for this bike. I got the hang of it by my second time out on the bike.

Definitely, in-line fours are known for the smoothness. Most of my miles so far have been normal city riding and traffic, the bike performs fine and is comfortable for that type of riding.

Once it's broken in I'd definitely be shifting near redline to maximize the power. I'm going to assume an ECU flash will definitely unleash the power and if there is any throttle % restrictions remove those and make a world of a difference. 2 Wheel Dynoworks already has a completely stock ecu flash out and the gains are insane kzbin.info/www/bejne/b4ibdapunJmfiaM.

Gents, here is the explanation why this bike is down on power in Canada and the USA. The Kawasaki Canadian website says and I quote, "The Ninja ZX-4R and Ninja ZX-4RR reach max power at 11,500 rpm in Canada due to noise regulations." Gents its not emissions regulations it's noise regulations why this bike has been neutered. I was planning on getting this motorcycle, but now I'm thinking of getting a good, cheap used Ninja 400 and waiting until this power issue is resolved. The whole idea of this bike is its 16,000 screaming rpm redline. If power is limited to 11,500 rpm, mine as well get the Ninja 400.

Like ALL manufacturers they start cutting fuel off at certain rpm’s thru redline. Some stock tunes even won’t open up the throttle blades all the way despite giving it full throttle. It’s all because emissions and or noise regulations. Exhaust and a tune on ANY bike wakes them up dramatically…

I believe the ECU starts cutting fuel at 11,500 thru redline on all models so exhaust and tune should be 80+hp at the tire and a real wild top end🎉🎉🎉( well wild for 399cc😎) either way these bikes will be collectible!! Can’t wait to get one… or two 😂

The center of mass is great. The suspension definitely needs some work but I don't think it being horizontally mounted is the issue. They are just sprung to accommodate such a wide range of riders and styles that it's not the best performance. I'll definitely be making upgrades to it in the future.

In Moto3 bikes are 185lbs then the 130lbs kids on them, dont need as big of a tire. They still high side too the moon running out of grip. 120-160 cambo feels way better too me.

Yeah but not everybody has the roads to enjoy ZX6R to it's max capacity. If I lived on a major hwy or freeway system, I would definitely get the ZX6R over the ZX4RR but I live in a backwoods rural area with lots of bends & turns and logging trucks so I basically need a track oriented bike if that makes sense.
