Dear Jay, I have installed 2103 SCCM but got stuck performing updates. Internet connection is there on the server, but updates does not take place. no items found. please advise me to resolve this issue.

Hi Syed, Try restarting the server. Sometimes updates do not show up right away. If the problem still exists, you can try running the in-built updates troubleshooter.

After i did my updates I had this message "The Configuration Manager console cannot connect to the Configuration Manager site database. Verify the following: • This computer has network connectivity to the SMS Provider computer. • Your user account has Remote Activation permission on the Configuration Manager site server and the SMS Provider computer. • The Configuration Manager console version is supported by the site server. • You are assigned to at least one role-based administration security role. • You have the following WMI permissions to the Root\SMS and Root\SMS\site_ namespaces: Execute Methods, Provider Write, Enable Account, and Remote Enable." I followed all your process . When i rebooted that it happened.

Bee Man Message means it is failed to connect to SCCM database. Double check your SQL services, whether they are running or not. Open Server Manager > Dashboard > Events. Usually those services flagged in red. Have you ever connected even once after upgrading?

@@TekNexSolutions I did what you said and Database came back on but still could not log into sccm. the message is "The user account running the Configuration Manager console has insufficient permissions to read information from the Configuration Manager site database. The account must belong to a security role in Configuration Manager. The account must also have the Windows Server Distributed Component Object Model (DCOM) Remote Activation permission for the computer running the Configuration Manager site server and the SMS Provider. " Little progress though.

Bee Man This is strange what happened. I am assuming you are using the same account which you have used before.

Well it now says a new console is available and that the configuration manager is updating and cannot be opened now. Try again later
