that's the point. fischl in game doesn't actually understand german at all because she was just pronouncing stuff that she read out of a book with no irl reference to how it's spoken out loud; she is completely butchering it. basically its the japanese anime trope of something called a chuuni. or a chunibyo, which roughly in english would be called something like "middle-schooler syndrome". stuff like thinking they have a secret hidden power stored inside of them(usually in the eye), trying to speak in a language no one around them is fluent in or has even heard, having imaginary friends they take completely seriously, etc, are common points of the trope and fischl has them all lol.

@@gastritis6036 i saved every primo and pull i got through chiori's banner time, which amounted to about sixty pulls, lost the fifty fifty on a jean at about fifty pity, then spent the rest of his banner time absolutely scrambling and scraping every primo from every event and every story quest, and then finally got kazuha in the final week at like eighty fucking pity. harrowing. all that and i don't even have him at ninety yet because i was farming the wrong boss.
