I love Recycler. Criminally underrated. Poke Chop Sandwich is a great title, what are you talking about. My favorite band of all time. Love all their stuff.

I am a huge ZZ Top fan. Seen them in concert about 15 times. I've listened to these albums alot. I like that they mixed it up with Recycler, Antenna, and Afterburner. Mescalero one of my favorites - no long enough. The song Piece is one of my favorites. I listen to Rhythmeen and La Furuta the least. La Futura got away from what fans enjoy about ZZ Top - too much singing, not enough playing, and standard drumming by Frank who usually mixes it up.

Even though I like most original cd releases (non remastered), the 70s stuff sucks on cd (not including Tres and Fandango, they’ve had good remasters). The 80s remastering those albums got on cd is terrible and besides vinyl it’s the only digital releases of those albums. Solid list.

Agreed, those original albums on cd were actually remixes. Same with the "Six Pack" cd. But the small box set from 2013 has brand new remastering of the original mixes and they're are fantastic. It's the best Top on CD. The one titled "Complete Studio Albums 1970-1990". NOT the "Original Album Series" boxes, those are the early cds.

@@nickspann20 Just so you know, the first batch of that box had the wrong remaster of Eliminator - 2008 remaster instead of the new one. Main difference is the 2008 remaster is way louder! Rhino offered free replacement discs, but don't know if they still do. Apparently all subsequent boxes now have the correct discs. Tres is also a new remaster, again not as loud but sounds great - I've got the original LP and almost always play the cd box. Cheers.

Mescalero will always be my favorite. Also you made a minor mistake, dusty did not sing Francine. Not a big deal, but I just wanted to throw that out there.

Loads of people seem to think he did! Probably because it states he was "vocals on Francine and Chevrolet" on the album sleeve, but anyone who is actually a fan can hear that it's Billy's main vocal!

Afterburner is my favourite ZZ Top album, an 80s classic, it sold 5 million copies and had more hits than any album they’ve ever done and you said it’s not very memorable. Well the numbers say you’re wrong. I really don’t think Recycler is bad either, in fact it’s still better than anything they’ve done since in my opinion. XXX is just boring and unmemorable, it sold 30,000 copies only, easily the worst. No objective person could possibly say it’s better than Afterburner and Recycler, even the other post 1994 albums don’t come close to Afterburner

Are you sure you are not confusing Afterburner with Eliminator? Because Afterburner has Sleeping Bag and Velcro Fly but Eliminator was the massive album for them with the really famous hits: Gimme all your Lovin, Got Me Under Pressure, Legs, Sharp Dressed Man. I don’t think Afterburner outsold it, did it? Its definitely not as good an album as Eliminator.
