I lived just outside La Grange for 11 years. That shack outside La Grange was a brothel. Best Little Whorehouse in Texas is a movie with Dolly Parton about it. It was a huge scandal in Texas back in the 70s when a reporter in Houston spilled the tea. Even though it was one of the worst kept secrets in Texas. Plenty of Texas politicians were patrons, and the football team from Texas A&M went there for celebrations. My dad was acquainted with the sheriff in that county. Told me a story about some local ranchers who called the sheriff in the early AM to tell him they caught a cattle rustler. He asked them why they didn't just shoot him and call him after daylight.
