Zziplex TRC - 175g - Pendulum and OTG

A few practise casts with the new Zziplex TRC and the QTC Daiwa 7ht.
All of the casts were with the 175g lead. Some of the casts were good, some not so good :0)
This is the rod which cast 289.25 metres on the 125g and 275.02 metres on the 150g at Kent Sportcast
Beautiful rod, and i will be out practising more often.

Zziplex TRC Butt length - 7' (213.5cm) Tip length - 7'10" (239cm) Total length - 14'6" (442cm) Butt weight - 480g Tip weight - 260g Total weight - 740g (built with minima guides, right hand grip tape, 12" shrink tube) Butt diameter - 25mm Tip diameter - 3.6mm Action: parabolic c curve. Fast recovery

Have you ever had an issue with the line getting wrapped around the tip during the flick in the middle.? I use fixed spool but am keen to try this cast

Steve , what diameter is the butt on the TRC, is it based on the 427 ?

Chris Schrader The TRC is built on a HST mandrel. The butt diameter is 25mm

Filibustero Jota Casting into water, it is very difficult to accurately judge the distance. I guess maybe 230m +

Hi Steve, How would you compare the trc to the su?

They both have a similar action and power. Same amount of carbon. But the TRC is built on a slimmer mandrel, and it is slightly longer. I really enjoyed using both rods, and choosing between the two was difficult. It would come down to individual preference, especially if butt diameter is a factor. Some like slim butts, others prefer the thicker mandrel. For me I didn't mind either.

@@stephenjlewis1976 thanks for that Steve, trying to find something similar the my old conoflex Rakata i used to use, had a parabolic action and thick butt but didn't bother me.

Managed to Get hold of a trc, absolutely love it!! It feels very similar to my old Rakata but so much lighter and thinner.
