I haven't been following any strategy and just directly pull with everything I have hoping to be lucky enough, because from my perspective the previous banners felt like necessary characters (Ellen and Zhu Yuan are the only dps of their respective elements for now, Qinyi is a great stunner and I my case I couldn't manage to obtain neither Koleda or Lycaon). This time I pulled for Jane because "horny-pull" as you said in you previous video, but my thinking is not trying to force cinemas on limited S-ranks because it just too difficult if you're not a whale. So now that I got 1 Jane and manage to max Anby's cinemas and got 5 of Seth's cinemas, I will now use my pulls to try to also get at least one Seth W-eng hoping that a Jane weapon appears in the middle, but it's not my objective, since I was saving a maxed dinosaur W-eng for Jane and I remember that someone in the forums said that the maxed dinosaur works better that base Jane weapon.

No. Im done building pity. I dont want to do it anymore. I was skipping Jane Doe so I could pull for Caesar. But then i thought id give Seth a try. I was 80 pulls away for guaranteed S. So i did a ten pull... and got Jane Doe. Now my pull count is back down to 90 for Caesar 😂

If you’ve been playing Hoyo games for a while this is nothing new but it’s good to have a proper explanation! Just be careful that even when you’re not close to soft pity you can always get that lucky pull so NEVER go for A rank duplicates if you don’t want the S rank in the banner, it’s a recipe for disaster waiting to happen. As for me, I got my Seth copies, his weapon, Rina and Jane. I can sleep soundly until the badass off road max max waifus in 1.2 lol

I never build pity, I never will build pity and you should do the same. The reason is simple: You can get lucky and get the featured 5 star/S rank character/weapon early, and when you were not even interested in that character/weapon well you just wasted your pulls, congrats. Only pull on banners when you really want the featured 5 star/S rank character or weapon, that way you're assured at 100% to not waste your pulls.

I pulled for Quingy, intending to build pity and get Jane next banner, but I got her on my first 40-50 pulls and didn't have enough polychromes to get jane. Advice to everyone: PITY IS A SCAM for inpatient people lacking discipline, like myself. Don't make the same mistake I did. I messed up, so don't be like me, be smart, tame yourself and save instead of pulling and building pity. Play safe. If you save enough, you won't need pity to get 100% on a character you want and won't have to worry about losing your chance. Gonna be hard, but it will worth your while. May all your pulls be blessed with good fortune to grant you the agents you desire!

I got lucky and succeeded in building pity in both character and weapon banners for Jane. Tried to get Zhu Yuan’s weapon but never got the pity. Built pity. Tried to C6 on Billy with Quingyi’s banner. Got C6 Corin instead and never got Quingyi. Built pity. By the time Jane’s banner arrived I soft pitied on both Character and Weapon banner after gather PCs from events. This is only good if you’re ok with getting the character on said banner and at least one of the A Ranks appeal to you. All of this as F2P btw.

building pity should be fine only if you know you have enough for the characters you want, and dont mind the featured character or they are good. Say you have 100 pulls and are at a 50/50, even if you get a 5* early, well thats a free 5 star with not much wasted pulls, and if its not the on banner, then its guarenteed for the next. Even if you win your 50/50, thats still a 5 star that will benefit you

@@Pavme I think it's not the same. I mean, ok, I like Quingy and am OK with her, but like, she's not the agent I wanted the most. I had several heartattacks when I lost 50/50 on Jane banner and now I'm cooked with what I have. Anyway, I don't think I can wait for a rerun banner of her. Easter phylosophies say that we should let go of things we cannot control and no longer serve us. I learned from my mistake. I will never pull again outside of the banner I want.

One time in GI, I was pulling for Yanfei, a 4* character, on Kazuha's banner a few months ago. In the midst of that, I lost my 50/50 to Mona. I didn't care though because I wasn't to crazy about him. Losing that 50/50 made me able to get Yelan a few months later, so I have no regrets. Although I am against building pity, I think it's ok if you're not guaranteed and you really like an A rank/4* character. So I agree agree with this to an extent.

“Building pity” does not exist. If you pull on a banner it is only ever for one of 3 reasons: 1) You are pulling for the S rank 2) You are pulling for one of the A ranks 3) You are pulling because you have a gambling addiction and can’t control yourself to wait for the character you actually want. That’s it. Full stop. If for example you do not care at all about Jane, Seth, or Anby and are only pulling on this banner because “I’m building pity for Ceaser” then you’re an addict plain and simple. Putting 20 pulls on Jane banner you don’t want (and risking getting an early S rank) and then putting 20 pulls and getting Ceaser when her banner drops is no different then if you just waited for Ceaser’s banner and pulled those 40 times and got her. The only actual difference in these two methods is that the first runs a risk of getting Jane you didn’t want and now you’ve fucked yourself cause that would of been Caesar if you just had a little self control and patience.

Yeah, solid advice. I did that with Zhu Yuan, I'm not very interested in her, not her gameplay or the character speaks much to me, but I risked it because the potential rewards could help my account quite a bit, Ben is alright, Nicole is a beast even at low investment, and I was looking for another DPS, I already have Ellen but Nekomata wasn't doing much even after investing a lot... It paid off, the 50/50 wasn't guaranteed, and I got Koleda instead, which is fantastic since Anby was the only stun character I had, and I got 3 copies of Nicole. I skipped Qingyi, and stocked polychromes for Jane, which was a character that I was looking forward to, I knew she was going to hit hard after seeing speedrunners playing with Piper... I was stretching a bit thin, imagine if I win that 50/50, I still would have chances to get Jane, but leaving me with no polychromes for a character of 1.2 reliably, and I'd have potentially 3 DPS and no Stunners... So it's a lot of weighting the risk, I was desperate for a stunner and you have 1/3 chance of getting one if you loose a 50/50, so I just made the bet... So yeah, it's solid advice, and this game is a bit more forgiving than Genshin and HSR with A/ 4* characters, just keep your head cool and pull deliberately.

This is exactly how I handled the Zhu Yuan banner. I wanted C6 Nicole and wouldn't mind getting Zhu Yuan. I got C5 Nicole and Zhu Yuan W-W and built an extra 25 pity. Completely skipped Qingyi because there wasn't anything of interest + I was saving for Jane. Ended up getting Jane and C2 Seth 🤙🏾

I didn’t do it intentionally, but I’m glad I did because Caesar is who I wanted the most and I may have missed her entirely if I hadn’t failed to get Jane after 150+ pulls. I went into Caesar’s banner 23 pulls away from my guarantee because I lose Jane’s 50/50, so I ended up with Caesar on my first 10 pull. After only starting ZZZ less than 4 weeks ago and being new to gachas entirely, I’m starting to get a feel and an understanding of the polychrome economy and why I need to be more cautious and selective with my pulls. Unless I’m willing to spend a bunch of real money on monochromes, I’m most likely not getting every limited s rank that comes out. If I want mindcapes and w engines, then I have to be even more selective. As of right now however, I love Piper, so I’m still pulling on Caesar’s banner so I can get Piper’s mindscapes. If I happen to also get Caesar’s mindscape 1, then I’d be pretty happy. Otherwise I lose a 50/50 and then I can guarantee my next limited s rank, which for me is probably going to be Yanagi because I love her.

You have also need to be careful if you're eyeing only for a single A-rank character. While S-rank have the 50/50 guarantee system, the A-rank doesn't. Meaning? If you're trying to EVEN C3 an A-rank character from C0, there's no guarantee you can get that at all. For example from my problem, I tried to get AT LEAST C3 Billy when Qingyi banner was up, but ended up only to C2 and the rest is Corin, a character I barely use. I end up asking advice in the internet and decide not to pull again after nearing itself on soft pity. So unless you like both A-rank in the banner and/or really like the S-rank too and just be ok with it, you shouldn't build pity and take risk on it imo.

Yeah, hard to disagree, I mean, in the video he mentioned that all comes down to risk management, which I believe to be case, I've been there, sometimes I just don't pull at all, other times I take the risk for the 4* characters, sometimes it works, and others I had to wait for a rerun and it's not good because you have to guarantee that 100% meaning you'll miss a potential 50/50 in another banner. So far I had luck in ZZZ, I haven't got everything I wanted but what I have let me beat all the content of the game with ease, I've done the soft pity strategy for some 4*, but now I'm playing safe.

1. NEVER build pity if you dont like the fearured units. 2. ONLY build pity if you're ok on getting the featured unit. For me, i build my pity to get the featured A rank units i need like Ellen Banner Sokaku or Zu Yuan Nicole (wanted her but lost pity, but i got Nicole C6 so worth it). great video and advice, i was debating whether I wanted to pull for more seth copies on this banner since I already got Jane and have m6 Anby, but the point about getting a lucky early S and losing the 50/50 = guarentee for the next S rank has me sold. I of course wouldn't mind M1 Jane either, and the only Stable S rank I don't have any plans for longer term is Rina, as Grace + Soldier 11 can fit into teams I have later if I put time into building them, and the other 3 offer me mindscapes. If I got lucky with an early S, my chances of benefitting from losing the 50/50 are much more likely than not, and residual signals for the A ranks could pay themselves back if I'm truly unfortunate with Seth. Is 30 a recommended number for building pity just because its managable, or is it self imposed?

I like the game but i have a BAD LUCK as hell, and its called "Nekomata". When the game started with Ellen Joe banner i really wanted to get it. Before pulling on limit channel i were pulling on standart and got Nekomata for the first time and... I losed Ellen Joe just by getting Nekomata again on limit. And more actually, trying to pull Cesar, literally one of my favorite characters i wanted to get and... I lose the pity again by Nekomata. All the S characters i have was just thanks to pity, even the bangboo S ones. Zhu Yuan, just by the guaranteed 90 pulls. Jane Doe 10 pulls away from guaranteed S. I passed from Qingy and i will pass from the characters of scott outpost. The worst of this is that i dont really like the next S character Burnice and its making me think about quitting the game.

Hell no this doesn't sound stupid at all, you're right in clarifying this. 3:40 will answer this perfectly. Getting the A-ranks that you are utilizing the most to C6 is extremely optimal for getting more pulls later since you'll be able to hash out difficult content. By limiting yourself to 30 pulls per limited banner with needed A-ranks (90 ÷ 3 = 30) or stopping before soft pity is a healthy approach in building pity. As explained at 3:40 in the video, if you happen to get a Golden Ticket within those 30 pulls, you've achieved the best possible outcome.

Hi Static! I’m a little confused so I hope you could clarify. I’m saving up for Miyabi. I pulled Qingyi on her banner a few weeks ago (so won the 50/50), then today I pulled on Jane’s banner for 40 pulls and got a very early Nekomata (I wanted Anby copies). Does this mean on the next time I pull for an S rank on their banner, (whether it be through the 90 hard pity, >74 soft pity, or lucky early S rank pull) I’ll get the featured banner S rank character no matter what (because I lost the previous S rank 50/50 very early to neko)? So now, don't build up any A Ranks or pity on any banners until you're sure 100% that's the S Rank you want to use your Golden Ticket on.

That's absolutely right! The strategy behind the "30 pulls max" per limited banner is carefully thought out. By capping yourself at 30 pulls (since hard pity is at 90 pulls, and 90 ÷ 3 = 30), you avoid reaching Soft Pity while still giving yourself more than two chances to build pity for A-Ranks across multiple limited banners. If an S-Rank drops within those 30 pulls before Soft Pity, it's a win-win situation. Ideally, you'd lose the 50/50, allowing you to save your pity for future banners. But if you win the 50/50, you just snagged an S-Rank within 30 pulls - which is an incredible outcome! This method keeps you flexible and minimizes resource loss. I've used this strategy across various gachas, and it works well, even with different pity systems.

Sorry for my late reply! Hmmm not exactly. If you get an S-Rank early on a limited banner, whether you choose to stop or continue will depend on whether you won or lost the 50/50 and what your original goal was for building pity. Regarding the Stable Banner, what you receive and do on the Stable Banner does not affect the Limited Banner, and vice versa.

@@wilsonarenas7583 Yes, Genshin now starts giving you better rates if you keep losing 50/50. There's a hidden counter that counts the number of times you've lost 50/50 now. The first 2 losses don't do anything, but on the 3rd try you get a 75/25 chance. If you happen to lose the weighted 3rd try, your 4th "50/50" becomes guaranteed. Example: You happen to join Genshin at this moment and you wanted to burn your life savings. You pull on Mualani's banner. Your first 5* is Dehya and you've lost your 50/50. The hidden counter becomes 1/3. You keep pulling and get your guaranteed Mualani. Since you want Constellations, you keep going. Your next 5* is Jean and you lose another 50/50. The hidden counter becomes 2/3. You get your guaranteed Mualani. The next 5* you pull now has a 75% chance of being Mualani and 25% for a standard. You lose anyway, getting Dehya again. Now the counter is 3/3. You get another guaranteed Mualani. At this point, the next 5* character you pull is guaranteed again to be Mualani and the Capturing Radiance animation plays. If at any point you win the 50/50, that hidden counter resets. If you win the 75/25, the Capturing Radiance animation plays as well. The 55/45 number is an aggregate from all chances stacked up. If you did a billion pulls, of all 5* you'd gotten, 55% of them would be limited banner 5*. There's a really good video on this system from KokomiClan that explains it in a more visual way. P.S. I am so confused. Does building pity mean saving the pulls? I am 43 pulls away from the 50/50 and I actually want Jane but also want to level up Anby who I also love and use. What should I do? I am going bananas

Sorry Evri! I totally missed your comment. When you have 16 pulls left on your guarantee counter, that means on the 16th you will enter Soft Pity, so Jane will likely drop after that. You want Jane? Then you should be pulling without worrying of limiting yourself or building pity on this limited banner. No brainer for you here, Just keep pulling until you get her my dude! About the 50/50, in your case, WINNING it is the best outcome as you actually are aiming for the S-Rank.

Your "Shiyu Defense" example limps, since you NEVER make back the pulls you wasted on a Banner for an S Rank you don't want or just for the A Rank Mindscapes. Let's Assume most people will be able to S Rank 3 Shiyu Critical Nodes and get 4 A Ranks, thats just 1x Pull per 2 Weeks you miss out on, so if you employ the "Pity Building" Strategy, you "waste" hypothetically 30 pulls every month just to have 2 Pulls more effectively losing 28 pulls just to get Mindscape of certain A Ranks slightly faster, if at all. buuuuuuuuut YOU missed 1 MAJOR thing! the Signal Shop! if you don't have enough to get the Monthly 5 Regular and 5 Master Tapes, that could be considered a real loss of 10 Pulls. Which is far more significant than getting Shiyu S Ranks. I am running into this issue since I save since the Start for Miyabi, but I am running out of the Shop Currency.

Also what about my 2nd part? For the signal Shop "building Pity" makes much more sense than for shiyu.

@@PrinceVinc There was no "second part", you're editing and adding arguments to your comments as they come to you, which I could spend all day contradicting as well, but frankly, don't have the time. Never suggested you need to do this EVERY MONTH for 6 months. Residue from pulls is a valid point, but it doesn't overwrite Shiyu, their two separate benefits from this, Pulling versus building A-Ranks to C6.

@@staticbreed Sometimes I post a comment and think of something else just a few seconds later, so I am conflicted if I should just post another or edit it. Also it is not much of a contradiction, just another view on things as another Hoyo Veteran. Imo Shiyu, Spiral Abyss, MoC those modes are all there to make most people think exactly that: pull on something they kinda want but not really want/need just to get the extra currency. (FOMO) The idea of the Video does make sense to me, overall I would have wished it would have included the signal shop, since there is where most players make also pretty big "mistakes". At least f2p ones.
