We can only really feel the uplifting joy of the Burnice demo once we know the painful sting of the Miyabi/Harumasa trailer Everyone has been hurt by these Hollow disasters one way or another, but that doesn’t have to be the end. Reminds me of NIKKE in a way. I really do love this game

I really love how under ZZZ’s wacky character personalities and animations lies a dark and serious undertone. It gives a believable depth to the world and to the characters we see without making the atmosphere completely and overly depressing. The writers for this game make the characters so likable so that we feel compelled to help and save them when they meet the dangers of the Hollows.

I find ZZZ’s post-apocalyptic concept of Hollows and Ethereals to be one of the more interesting I’ve seen in media, we the audience see it through this stylish cartoonized/anime art style but in reality to the characters it probably looks a lot more like a Resident Evil or Fallout kind of world.

Astra Yao performs a song of mourning for those who have lost their lives during Hollow Zero disaster. She made a promise to someone to sing that song for her one day that was to the person who risked her life to save her that day. Astra recognizes among the audience family members of those who saved her that day and tears fell off to her bouquet as she wept for those who died saving her and to the families they left behind. She says sorry to those who saved her and those who loved them as it was thanks to her she lived to this day yet it is also because of her they never again could be with the ones they love.

The thing that tripped me up until recently is that I conflated appearance of Hollows with the fall of old Eridu. But the Hollows showing up and civilization ending was a long time ago - and people held on in Eridu until that got taken down 11 years ago. So you get both "Lost Technology" from hundreds of years ago and also people that literally saw their world end in their lifetimes.

Finally a glimpse of how the “powerless” people, who logically represent the majority of ZZZ world populations, face a hollow disaster up close in comparison to the fewer “powerful” bunch (agents and Wise & Belle the legendary proxies). Need more of these to let players realize that the “apocalypse” of ZZZ’s post-apocalypse theme isn’t mere decoration, as well as how actually post-apocalypse theme should be presented without fallen into the trap of overuse of the dark, painful, cruel aspects.

The bleak horror of this world is something I'd love to see tapped into more like this. I swear sometimes I forget the hollows are actually super dangerous to the average person whenever we use our powerful characters who have high ether aptitude. Ever since Section 6's Character trailers, I've been emotionally hit by each one of them. So when I got this notification I prepared myself for the emotional trauma that was to come, yet it still got me somehow. 😭 Astra being the one to represent and sing during Hollow ceremonies to fulfill a promise her sister made as well as to memorialize her, may or may not be sadder than Miyabi's story. The VAs did a great job in this, those screams were truly heart-shredding, I'm happy ZZZ finds a way to have its serious and sad moments in a flashy and colorful game even if it may only just be in a character teaser. (With this in mind, I'm kinda scared to see Evelyn's character teaser 😭)

We often forget, I think, just how deadly the Hollows are given how powerful our squad can be when we take the game's battles on, even Hollow Zero's modes themselves. Some of us probably even wonder what the big bother is with even Hollow Zero given how easily we can sometimes go through the stages. We forget we field elite agents - and even the youngest Void Hunter herself - led by the best Proxy there is. These shorts show us a different ZZZ. Where ordinary people brave the Hollows to bring out those lost within. Often at the cost of their lives.

at 3:22 I didnt notice at first but after few rewatched the kid next to the old lady fades way. I forget how terrible these hollows are for a normal person since we play people that fight in hollows you forget a ton of people have died to the mobs that are easy to us and give no second thought to.
