If you think of it in magical terms then Ether is basically dark/shadow magic. Full on with the cliche corruption effects. There no natural ether resistance cause there's no light magic element to counter it. The ZZZ world has basically studied ether power to not only make use of it but how to create resistance form it. We see it in things like the robots having a level of resitance in it's metal or drugs having been created that be taken to help human resist ether corruption when in hollows. It sure as hell ain't rare when it's a power source, you mine crystals and even Zhu Juan's gun has a mention in one of her character cinema levels that says her gun just sucks up Ether particles from the air as a way to refuel.

Deadly Assault showed me that i am, in fact, not good at this game. Rocked a solid 4 stars overall on my first go of DA, barely short of 3 on the first stage with Miyabi, Yanagi, and Caesar. If I were to take a wild guess I would assume that the "past war" was between the "Creator" and humans. Assuming that Hollow Zero is the origin of all life, the "Creator" (who I assume made both Hollow Zero and life) would likely be a god-like being with the ability to manipulate and possibly generate Etheric matter. For some reason humans rebelled against the "Creator" and managed to sever it's limbs. Each limb became one of the six Primary Hollows. This would also explain why even though the Hollows have been around for (potentially) millennia, they haven't been destroyed. It's because the "Creator's" body generates enough etheric matter by itself to consistently sustain all 7 Hollows. The reason that the Cultists (and Bringer) are after a specific serum to make themselves into Ethereals is in order to journey deep enough inside of all 7 Hollows and find each limb of the "Creator" and put it back together. Carole Arna was likely taken because of how revolutionary the HDD tech was since using it would allow the cultists to bypass the need to make the serum at all. Anyway, that's my crackpot theory. I still think the moon was an (failed) experiment to utilize Hollow's spacial abnormalities to teleport long distances. Well, that, or the Moon is the true Hollow Zero and the Hollow Zero in Eridu is actually just a companion Hollow of Hollow Zero.

@@DantoriusD Which is perfectly fine because most patches are 42 days/6-weeks. 3 weeks per new character which is half the patch and is also one banner/1-new character which lines up perfectly. And you can always just buy the four extra Boss materials from the monthly reset. The system is fine. It also allows you to actually play the game instead maxing everything out in one week and just doing nothing for the extra 5 weeks of the patch. The devs know how to make games lol. 🤷🏻‍♀

Not everyone is a Day 1 Player and 1.4 brought a huge new Playerbase so they have way more Characters to Build. 1 Material is just a Joke when every other Drops increases with higher Inter Knot Level. Spending Energy on Weekly Bosses after the free 3 Runs was Huge but you are still Timegated or spending way more Energy than other Gachas. They should increase the Drops to at least 2 per Run so with your Logic People can still Build the 2 new Banner Character AND 1 additional per Patch.

Get Zhu Yuan's Engine, then the patch after get Qingyi or her engine or her mindscapes depending on what you have. That's what I would do if I were you

According to the leaks, Astra buffs are already very good without the engine. Zhu Yuan's engine is very good because it gives critical damage and critical rate in the same engine. Ellen's engine only gives critical rate, so the other one is better. I'm going to try to get Astra and Zhu Yuan because it's better to have the agents, even without the engine they work well.

Ether agents will not be super rare. So many games have tried to say this with whatever special magic stuff that happens in their game and yet characters using it become somewhat common every time. Ether is such a common part of the ZZZ world and used as a power source in a lot of ways. So there's no way ether agents will be rare. We won't likely see another ether dps until the next void hunter but we sure will see an ether stunner within the year. As for places outside of New Eridu, we full on visit Outer Ring that runs on oil and is livable fine. There's really no doubt that other big cities akin to New Eridu and many other livable places exist. They are likely way far away though. Tech is overly too high and civilication too advance for only a single metropolis to be on the planet. NE would be far more totalitarian than it is if it was the only bastion of humanity in ZZZ.

i respect the dev's decision to make Ether this rare element, but honestly they should rework how the 1.0 characters activate their core passives, Nicole can't activate hers unless she's paired with an Ether character or member of the same faction, i think the ladder should stay in the game since Lore and gameplay should have some intertwine imo (it's funny and sad that Yanagi can't activate her passive if she's paired with Soukaku alone who's, y'know, her mom pretty much), but the same attribute should just go away, it really limits the team comps with 1.0 characters like you can't have Ellen's passive with you pair her with Lighter and Lucy for instance, and Lighter's there to buff her Ice dmg. And With Ether being so rare, it makes even less sense for Nicole to have this restriction

That and a lot of Shinyu Defense levels in the past had Ether attribute buff. Sure another attribute is also buffed alongside it but it’s usually Ice attribute which is the second rare attribute.

Nicole's additional passive only affects ether characters anyways, so even if you change it, nobody can take advantage of it besides ether characters. That's why you can use Nicole outside of cunning hare/ether teams because her def shred and everything else works even without her additional ability. ceasers is a support, sustain, and defense unit jack of all trade. What I do not get is why people salivate over astra like astra is superior by that big of a margin. Sure she gives more attack than ceaser but no anti-inturupt shield, astra can buff characters offield which only matters if you got an off-field DPS like burnice or lucy. Miyabi only benifits because of the crit rate buff and will only benifit from astra if Miyabi is at M2 where she can replace Yanagi with burnice since M2 miyabi can create her own frostfall stacks.

I've started thinking Astra may be good for characters like Harumasa, who generates a ton more traps when he has a chance to use a chain attack. It makes me wonder if they'll release other agents soon who care about their chain for more than just a small damage boost

You know, I’ll explains something fairly quick, you can clear comfortably with ANYTHING as long as you play into ressistance, which is what you want to do anyway. Which is why you had freaking soukaku clearing deadly assault. Now where I personally find the difficulty in the game, is in endless battle tower. I feel like it’s the only place where weaknesses are exposed, for example sometimes I’ll run rina instead of Lucy because she has vital view on her dodge and is much faster and her quick assists seems to never miss unlike Lucy, will I use rina in any other content in the game with my Miyabi? No. So remember pull for who you like at the end of the day if your die hard was Big Ben you could certainly clear with him, back to my point tho Astra LOOKS to have a ton of s and healing, much faster buff application which in BATTLE TOWER is a huge advantage, anywhere else you’re absolutely fine with Lucy

Calcs mean absolutely nothing until official release. All numbers are pointless to gauge for value until they're set in stone because it's in beta. She's going to get changed a few more times before release, so stats mean nothing other than they're testing her kit. Just like every other unit in every game ever. Over tune -> Adjust -> Balance -> Release. 🤷🏻‍♀

they have to nerf void hunter for the balance ngl , other banner looks very weak compare to void hunter banner altho void hunter mean to be the lore which is the top character , but making them too overpower make the game so boring

Think it like this miyabi will always be no 1 due to her being youngest and to her sword However next void hunters possibly are old past prime but will still do fine against ethereals and soldiers etc so they are old but good fighters still
