Hmm thats a wee bit to ponder. Loved what you said about not being the saviour and the people showing are not wanting you to be that, awesome. I have always wanted someone to fix me and hear I am amidst a huge thought storm and Im getting curious as to why its here but I know why, Ive been way overthinking to the max about my physical body when I know deep down that my body knows what its doing and when I settle I’ll know what to do …if anything. Thanks John , love your work 🙏🏻🙏🏻💕

It's so funny isn't it. I've spent a lot of my life caring about what people think in an effort to find the freedom you allude to, and yet it was a revelation to me to realise that when I stopped worrying about what others think, the freedom was right there underneath all that worrying. If I was to be 'myself' I'd be fighting with people every day and lose all my income. It certainly wouldn't be peace.
@johnelmokadem

Hey thanks for the comment, and yes I hear you! I get the pushback, and I have certainly had the same thoughts from time to time. But what I have seen for myself is that the external world is chaotic no matter what. Personally, I used to try and alleviate that chaos by pleasing others. It rarely worked, and actually led me to not being at peace (either externally or internally) because I was in my head all the time trying to work out how to be and what to say. Yes people still object sometimes to what I say and do, even though I am not trying to please so much, but the absence of trying to work out how to be to please them in my head has led to a level of inner peace that was not there previously. I also used to worry that not trying to please others would make me care less about others and their needs, but actually it seems easier to be mindful of how to care for others when we are at peace internally than when we aren't. Having more space in my mind has also left more capacity for creative ideas to surface because I'm more quiet internally - a useful thing when we are dealing with how to navigate income and work issues. Just some food for thought maybe. 👍🏻😀

Well said John. Not sure if you've ever read the works of Charles Whitfield or John Bradshaw but what you've shared here taps into some core ideas from the recovery movement and trauma informed therapy. Loosely in their framing, we develop a false/true self dichotomy and live primarily from the false, inauthentic & usually people-pleasing self while our true self, the authentic, unfiltered, abundant & creative self withers slowly in the dark. Great video 👍
@johnelmokadem
@johnelmokadem 3 ай бұрын
Hey there thanks so much for watching and for your comment also. I’m not aware of either of those works but definitely resonate with what you’ve shared. The conditioning that takes us away from our authenticity happens so early that for most, myself included, it’s a shock to realise that there’s actually something (what for me is our true Self) underneath it all! It often takes a major shock or life event for that conditioned self to fall apart and whilst it’s usually scary for most (certainly was for me) when it happens the more we are prepared to let that illusory self fall away the more we are invited to come home to who we really are and truly see the power and peace that resides there. In today’s world where everything is in flux, for me recognising the power of that Self and its ability to respond moment to moment rather from pre-conditioned ideas is, for me, more important than ever. You might like the longer video called the deletion (kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWOVZZeQrcRpbJo) on my channel if this resonates with you! Thanks again for watching and commenting.🙏🏻❤️

@johnelmokadem
@johnelmokadem 3 ай бұрын
So glad that came across and thank you for watching and commenting 🙏🏻❤️ In terms of drawbacks, it depends how you see it. I think the more you show up authentically, it can cause ripples in the beginning. Relationships and situations that aren't in alignment with you being more real will inevitably go through a period of adjustment. Some might fall away. Others might change to align with how you are being. But in my experience the more we drop the pretence and just be how we are moved to be, the more we begin to attract people and situations into our lives that are a better vibrational match to who we really are. These situations and relationships become more energising because they accept you for your authentic self, and so much of what drains us and actually takes us away from our power are our attempts to conform to standards and ideas that are actually counter to our normal way of showing up. As time has gone on I've found the relief of not having to pretend to be something I am not so liberating. And ironically it has freed up so much more energy and power for me to be at our best. I hope that helps?

Making changes in my routine ways of thinking and living are getting easier for me but the demands of explanations from people closest to me are frustrating. I get that my change affects them and sometimes challenges them. I suppose I have a desire for them to agree with my new perspective. But once I get comfortable with my new perspectives it is easier for them to adjust.
@johnelmokadem

Yes when we make changes, not only do our minds object, but those changes also go against the concepts others have made up about how we should be too. So we experience discomfort and so do they! But I like how you are seeing that as you get comfortable with the process of this, it energetically creates the possibility for those you are relating with to do the same! ❤️

Bit of a waffle but found it interesting and exactly what my body is telling me, thank you 🙏🏻

I've had this same insight a number of times over the last year or so, being revealed through a variety of different experiences. The mind always comes in to conceptualise and over complicate it, 'it cant be that simple' I hear, but I am seeing at shorter and shorter intervals that this is the only way it works. It can come via words but ultimately it is the presence or creative energy behind the form that we feel. What an incredible thing to discover, and im so grateful to share it with others like yourself John. Please keeping sharing 🙂
@johnelmokadem
@johnelmokadem Жыл бұрын
I'm so pleased this resonated with you too, and yes I totally agree the mind often wants to complicate it. As I see it, that presence is within us all and it is our source energy. It's where our insight and knowing coming from. When it's our come from place more in our own life, it's acting as a reminder to others of what is in them. From what I see it's really all someone needs to be reminded of to connect back home and to their higher wisdom. Thank you for being on the channel and for commenting! 🙏🏻😀

@@johnelmokadem Totally! I'm really curious as to how this insight affects how you work with people John, as it becomes deeper and deeper grounded within you? I know that this insight is often shared within coaching circles, but it seems to me that it is often experienced mainly as a concept, and to be truly grounded in it would be transformative but also potentially very disruptive for how our worked looked with people in the past, to whatever degree. I know this is a big question and I understand if this isn't the place to answer it, but my curiosity takes over, in no small part because I really see your authenticity and transparency in reflecting and sharing on these things.
