Thanks for this! I’m not going on vacation but I am having surgery and have to be in the hospital for about 6-7 days. I’m hoping I can have somebody come by at least a few times a week, but even still I know some people are grossed out by touching their feeder insects. I don’t have money to have somebody come by every single day twice a day but my anole needs to be misted at least two times a day. Hoping I can get an automatic mister and gravity water bottle thing just for the week and have a friend or pet sitter come by 2-3 times a week. I might just leave a bin full of feeder roaches or mealworms with lots of veggies lol

What do you put the water conditioner in, drinking water or bath water , also how often should I bath my tortoise I’m getting one in 2 days

My tortoise is free-roaming. I'm in Southern Africa, so I have the Leopard tortoise. My yard is about 420 square meters, and he just walks everywhere he wants to and grazes wherever. I feed him regularly, but I also let him graze around in the veggie garden. He's a lovely little bloke! I can never keep them in enclosures. He's used to the yard and even if we leave the gates open.. he'll never cross that boundary.

Toetoises do NOT need a light at night. It's actually not recommended. They need the night time to shut/cool down their bodies down. Please no lights! And no heat mats! Tportise heat source should always come from above

Pallet foods really arent very good for tortoises. Wild greens are what the main bulk of diet should be. Also Fruit should never be given this upsets the gut flora. Please anyone watching DO NOT give your russian tortoise fruit

What type of substrate do you use in that aquarium? I use desert sand but that looks good too. Great video btw. I've had one for over 20 years. I think I'll use a lot of this advice and mix things up for my guy :)
