@timo24n hey that would make sense yes, but the way the calculation works in game is the 25% magicka cost reduction gear is deducted from the cost of the spell AFTER the mage perks which reduce cost by half. So what happens if you only have 2 pieces of gear, is you end up taking a further 25% off the total, so the spell would be costing you 25/100 of the cost (each piece of gear would be taking it down by 12.5% after the inital halving) Or the other way of thinking about it, only take the perks which say they reduce the cost of novice/apprentice/adept/expert/master spells IF you don't plan on running a 100% cost reduction build. You can save yourself wasting perk points that way and invest them elsewhere.

@BobLazier-zk8gi interesting as I had the complete opposite experience, my PS3 original version was an absolute mess, I couldn't finish the game. Between 2012-15 I didn't play Skyrim anymore. Decided to give it another go when SE came out for the PS4 and it's been significantly better ever since. On PC now and that's been fine as well, I've never needed the unofficial patch or any bug fix mods

@Phantasm57 thank you! Yeah very true, you tend to spend far longer in the 'end game' in Skyrim than the early stages. Lesser spells are only useful for a finite time

@@mike-thegamingdad I just wish there was a way to get rid of the lesser spells because after a the spell menu gets too cluttered and the weaker spells feel redundant after being able to acquire the more powerful versions

@noobster101 hey what difficulty are you playing on? If the game is getting too hard and the difficulty isn't high, it could be how you have distributed your points in health/magic/stamina plus the skill perk points. The game levels with you as you level up, so it will naturally get harder unless you focus on your health, damage output, armor rating etc

@@mike-thegamingdad I believe it was adept, I just increased it by 1. I have 2 characters, 1 is on melee build, very strong only if using 2 hand weapons, and magic, sometimes too strong then most of the times too weak damage. mana drain just by killing 2. Maybe im just too advance on quests that I need to do others.

I noticed the last couple I did really struggled to get going, maybe they were too niche I dunno. I don't feel like I've retired from them though, I just wait till the right idea. @@timo24n if it's not appearing I'd check that you have the content installed. On the main start menu click on Creations/Creation Club. All of the AE content is in there, there's should be a menu option to look under verified creators or something, if you go on that there will be an option to 'download all'. Regarding the unofficial patch, I don't know if this is true for the AE content, but it may stop this method working once you have the spells. It patches a lot of the exploits/shortcuts in the game. But you can uninstall it, do the method, then reinstall it again.

@@mike-thegamingdad Yeah, he feels superior to humans but he likes you the player when he decides he is gonna find the milk of human kindness, he's funny, once you get his perk, he'll be a loyal companion and he's a good fighter too. When you hear the broadcast about rescueing ....can't remember his name, but from the trinity tower, that is a tough one so have lots of ammo.

@iamyourmuse yeah true, I was more thinking the radiation from places like Chernobyl. Chernobyl was hundreds of times more radioactive than Hiroshima. It was also an explosion at ground level so it's pollution runs a lot deeper and will take a lot longer to disapate. Whereas the Hiroshima bomb detonated in the air, so the levels of radiation at ground level never got near what Chernobyl did. But these were bombs so it's more likely they resemble Hiroshima than Chernobyl 😁

@@mike-thegamingdad But even now Chernobyl has recovered and plants are growing there, you'd never know a nuke went off there except if you go to some of the old buildings that were there. They are actually having tourists come thru and the area looks normal.

@@iamyourmuse a lot of that is in part to the sarcophagus they encased the reactor in, which they are building a replacement for because the original is decaying. Inside that tomb the radiation levels would be fatal to a human in less than a minute. Without it the exclusion zone and surrounding area would be a lot more radioactive, but yeah the radioactive materials outside of that have mostly expended their half life now. The stuff inside the sarcophagus like uranium and cesium will be radioactive well beyond our lifetimes 🤣

@@mike-thegamingdad I'd heard about that place. I think it was in a movie about that area. That is so crazy to think they had so much radiation there like that and to even keep nukes around to even have such an event, like those nuclear power plants, to me seemed like the dumbest idea ever to have nuclear power.

@TheDevastator619 yeah it is very hard playing the hardest difficulties from the beginning. In all my builds, even the legendary level ones at the end, start on adept and work up, to go straight in from level 1 is really tough and forces you to slow down on the speed levelling as you need to just focus on survivability early on

@freemindmusic2824 yeah that's true time of day does make a massive difference. I can't remember if I mentioned it as well, probably not, but any poor weather (snow, rain etc) can be cleared with the clear skies shout. This is particularly good in survival because if you stop the bad weather, it usually results in the temperature rating climbing up a level. Can make a huge difference between almost freezing to death and making it wherever you need to go.
