They do now offer your hybrid setup in two flavors. First one is the 20 in 1 which included the 14 hex bits in the handle and the 3 double end sockets and the handle doesn’t Rachet. The other looks identical but doesn’t have the bits in the handle and has the 7 in 1 name and has the ratcheting handle. A few days ago I found my self needing a 7mm to do some light work on my car and because I’m out of town and away from most of my equipment I spent hours checking Klein‘s website to help me understand what is new and get a feeling on what direction their design team could be going so I can determine if it worth my time to continue wishing and waiting for tools that could never see the light of day. I found that they did release a 7 in 1 metric standalone combo reversible MM set (7,8,10,12,13,14). But I couldn’t find it anywhere, and then by luck discovered on Lowe’s website that they had both the SAE & MM 7in1 sets packaged together as an exclusive Lowe’s/Klein Christmas set for $25. I went by a Lowe’s that said they had 5 of these in stock and 30 minutes before they close on Christmas Eve I’m seeing no stock. One guy helps me for a minute and I tell him what I was looking for and he found one from the back that the packaging was smashed from shipping possibly. I didn’t care though, I was content to get one. They also has ratcheting 8in1 stubby & 14in1 ratcheting full size for $19 but I didn’t find that one. Maybe one day they’ll offer the 20in1 and make into a 22in1 since they do have a bigger 4 socket reversible stem. At least I think that Klein has been listening to folks, otherwise I have no problem stepping away from the hype made behind these design releases. Plus the models get hard to find too. Take care

I have a plasma table but this is so cool! I can definitely see the value in this. I’ve seen some cool stuff made with it and the fact that it’s portable is a huge selling point. My plasma table is not portable 🤣. Cool sign dude!
@LeeBuilds2311 ай бұрын
Thanks. Ya it was the portability that sold me.
@810Metalworks11 ай бұрын
@@LeeBuilds23 question about the portability, plasma needs air to work. So how do you lug around the arc droid, plasma cutter and air compressor? I suppose you could use a pancake, but I can’t imagine that would keep up.
@LeeBuilds2311 ай бұрын
@810Metalworks the shop I take it to has air. So I don't have to worry about that. Lots of guys I see with welding rigs have a gas-powered air compressor on their rig already. You do need a good amount of air to do any decent amount of work.

Wathced numerous videos online of this machine, the fact it is portable is a selling point for me. Definitely on my list of purchases for the workshop this year
@LeeBuilds23 Жыл бұрын
Ya, that was the selling point for me. It the cordless drill vs drill press comparison. One good job and it will have paid for itself.
@wildcatwilly Жыл бұрын
Is this as user-friendly as they claim? Do you think it has a place in a shop that does two to four pieces of the same kind? We aren't a shop that cranks out thousands of parts
@LeeBuilds23 Жыл бұрын
I am not a computer guy, and yes, I was on to the simple trace quickly. It is very intuitive. This machine is definitely best suited to small batch and portability. I like to use the comparison of a cordless drill vs a drill press.
@wildcatwilly Жыл бұрын
What was the worst or hardest thing to do with the machine?
@LeeBuilds23 Жыл бұрын
@wildcatwilly biggest thing is getting your settings dialed in, amp, speed, torch height, etc. Once you get that dialed in for the thickness you are cutting, it is super simple. If you are buying for your shop it will pay itself off in no time.

This panel job I did, we did 5 panels. I figured it would have taken me and my helper 4 days to cut everything out. I was able to do it in 2 days by myself and make way cleaner and more accurate cuts then by doing g it by hand.

I wonder if you could make the arms longer? I watched a few videos now and it looks like someone could make longer upper arm and side bar. You could them make larger projects. If ARDROID made an additional arms for it, that could be a game changer!
@LeeBuilds23 Жыл бұрын
Myself, if I start doing bigger stuff, I'll get a table. The arm definitely has its limitations. The reason I got this is because it is small and portable. I've done jobs with this where I've put the machine right on the material that I am cutting. I use the comparison "its like comparing a cordless drill to a drill press"
@John-v2d3b11 ай бұрын
I saw a video from arcdroid where setup is I think x2. It allows you to double the length of your project by cutting half then allowing you to restart in the middle. Seems a fantastic machine. John
@LeeBuilds2311 ай бұрын
@user-ny7ho7pc5v I have the x2. But I haven't unboxed it yet. For the price point, it's an awesome machine. But in all honesty, if I start cutting bigger pieces, I'll be investing in a table.

few notes - best to clamp the sheet down - here we saw it move a bit plus the torch gets a false height from the spring back of the sheet hence it catching otherwise good job each cut we learn a bit more

did you make the sign on fusion 360 and import it into the arcdroid ? nice set up.

Thanks. They gave me an svg file of their business logo and I put it into Inkscape to doctor it up so I didn't drop out any letters or inserts. Then saved as an dxf file and installed on the arcdroid. I haven't learned fusion yet. Just getting the hang of Inkscape right now.

@@LeeBuilds23 how has the cut 60 been with the arcdriod? any issues?
@LeeBuilds23 Жыл бұрын
So far, there are no issues. I did replace the cat 6 with shielded cat 6 wire just as a precaution because I was doing a big panel job with it, and I didn't want any issues. So far, I am happy with it. From the sounds of it, it was the older machines that had the issues. For the price and the duty cycle, it's worth it.
