I had the rog ally z1 extreme a year ago then sold it. It was one of the best handheld pc that I have ever owned. I have an 8.4 inch onexplayer, playing on an 8inch screen is more enjoyable.

Been stuck on Lenovo legion or the Asus G16 . I love them both. But the battery on the Lenovo is soooo bad unplugged.

Hello! I’m watching the video at the time I write this and I absolutely love it. However, I want to give you some feedback. When you talk, you sound a little bit like a computer… could you try and be more you? Your words are honest man, no need to be shy! It will feel more engaging IMO. Also love the laptop been using it since I received it as an early Christmas gift and is an absolute beast for sure. Can play games with crazy performance, crazy graphics, and a gorgeous laptop. I’m a programmer and can easily code up to 6 hours and thats just what I need for most of the time, as I usually don’t travel and can simply use it charging, but it can be a bit concerning for some people for sure. Keep the good work man!

I have installed the addons and put it in the correct folder but the addons do not load when the game is launched. Any ideas?

Do you have everything saved on the steam deck? If yes, do you have it in the proper compdata folder: /home/deck/. steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata (then you'll need to find the WoW folder and addons from there)

Were you playing at max settings and maximum resolution on these games? Also what fan mode. performance, turbo or balanced?

On Marvel Rivals and Warzone, I was playing on medium settings (valuing FPS more), but on God of War and Dragon Age I was on max settings (Ultra I believe?) and was playing at turbo (plugged in) for all games.

@Ben-si9je That's tough. I haven't tried the G16 (my wife does have the G14), but if specs and price are the same/very close, I'd be inclined to lean towards the G16 just for the OLED screen.

Need help, downloaded addons through curse forge but the game doesnt load with any add ons button anyone else had same problem or has solution? the addons are in the correct file (programme files x89) in interface and addons but like mentioned dont show up in game

Just wanted to check, have you launched the game once first? Normally I have to launch the game, quit, and restart before the add-ons folder shows in game

Maybe? What operating mode and resolution are you playing at. Normally turbo mode (25w/30w) and 720p will give you the best performance.

thats wierd the devs support messaged me back and said they do not currently support integrated gpu systems and no one else is able to play it on there so is it just footage stripped from a pc?

Not sure what you mean, there's multiple videos of people showing gameplay on the Ally (and other handhelds). Plus, there's multiple points where you can see the ROG Ally command center open where you can see the operating mode and resolution.

If they're both the same price, I'd look to see which has better upgradeability (is there a second SSD slot for easily upgrading storage? Is the RAM upgradeable, or is it soldered). Things like that.

I don't know how the hell you get it to run like that but on my X the game runs awful. It's literally unplayable. I got AFMF2 on and everything is on low settings.

How do I get it to play on there for some reason and it’s downloaded on steam but it won’t go into the game for some reason it loads and then it closes. Is there a setting I need to do to get it to work what are the best settings because it keeps starting to load the game and will not go into it is it because of my former play with a regular PC?

Your former play on PC shouldn't impact it since there's cloud saves, and you "should" be able to pick up where you left off. If you're on the Steam Deck, you could try launching it in desktop mode first, see if that allows you to get into the game.

For quick play, it's crossplay, so you'll be able to play against Xbox and PlayStation. But for ranked, since this is technically a PC, you'd be locked against just PC players.

Is still one of the most incredible portable consoles on the market, seriously i love it and playing every single game is coming out is a plus, i sold the steam deck few months ago and keep the ROG, trust me if u want to buy a portable console not as expensive as the newest ones this is an amazing option, so yes, YOU MUST HAVE A ROG ALLY Z1 XTREME this and the next year.

Not too much. The upgrades in the OLED are more for screen in battery, but the hardware between the two models is basically the same (OLED has slightly faster RAM), so in turn, there's not really a big difference in performance metrics

I already played about 50h on the ally and it works but as you said, don't expect the best. But even in really heavy battles it works and for some reason I didn't had a big difference between 15 and 25/30 watt in normal situations. But the og sadly don't work well at all on the ally, unless you use a real mouse and keyboard. For some reason I couldn't get steam input or any input to work and I had more bugs then on my "old" PC. Sad but at least I can play them when I have the thing docked

Thanks for that info. I only played two games of multi and one of extraction, and hadn't played much outside of that on my Steam Deck, so I hadn't encountered that (yet)

It says "Illegal softwares have been detected, the system will further confirm whether there will be a suspend/block punishment on your account, Please try to restart your computer and login again. And also, please strictly comply with End User License Agreement of Game"
