25:35 as previously edgy teenager into d&d and the planescape setting, great breakdown of the book! I do want to say that while the transitions you mentioned are a bit standout, theyre not entirely without context. The first "missing scene", the chase with Jayk and the Amnesiac fleeing from the Gatehouse, is used to exposit how the Lady of Pain cannot see joyful moments/places in Sigil. After the githyanki fight scene, the narrator details how they were nearly captured by net-slingers during the interim. Same with the scene after he hides in the bar - the Amnesian is chasing down the Wine Woman (who looks like Ariadne) and , and gets led down a random alley by a demon into the Ooze pit, probably on purpose. I have nothing to say about the maze transition though, it is a bit sudden. Thats just how "getting mazed" is i guess! Great book club! Thanks for talking about a favorite of mine

I don't think it's a public issue, I think it's my personal problem. MOBAs like Dota 2 and League of Legends are irritating for me because they use LMB or RMB to move the character. Why? 😢 I love WASD, bro. Please, WASD is a basic need for me. I can't spend a whole week training myself to not use WASD. This is BS.

This is an issue across all Sportsnet events includong wrestling and baseball. I am SO TIRED OF THIS. It gives me a migraine. Sportsnet is aware and has done NOTHING about it. Even their audio guy who posts on reddit in the Blue Jays sub has brought it up to them. They do not care.

For your counter narrative to chaos theory, I think the better narrative is the Zamboni and the ice. Chaos theory would say the Zamboni never makes a difference, that every groove in the ice is only semi-corrected. So if you time traveled and managed to scuff up a particular section of ice, it would matter 100s of days later. You're pitching an interesting compartmentalized causality, or limited-causality theory. However I will say genes are a pretty perfect example of how small things can scale into a big problem. However specifically on a quantum-lack of entanglement I believe the defenders of quantum entanglement would say we currently can't measure the effect quantum entanglement has as we move up the chain, so it's not that it doesn't matter, it that it doesn't matter in a way we can yet measure. Why don't quantum particles leave outside of the proton, there's nothing as I understand containing them or preventing them from having an area of influence outside the proton. Also I suspect they'll say you choosing a proton is likely the worst example as electrons are the one we generally actually worry about the most.

You just have to reframe the metric. We're not segregating the rich and the poor. We're quantifying the power of a deck (S, A, B, C, D, E, F) based on the quality of the cards on that deck. You're not filtering the player, you're filtering the deck. The players are all equal, the decks are not

Love this series! Rewatching and I noticed, from being a total weeb, that when they say kidnapped in the anime for utena in the coffin they actually use a word with a different meaning in Japanese. KAMI KAKUSHI. or spirited away.

SPOILER: 40:20 The way i interpreted the end is... that there is no one specific behind it. It's just this faceless group of powerful corporate heads who are way out of reach. You'll never ever get to them, even if you tried to chase them down. They were on the videocall at Royjacker's and when things went sideways, they turned off their connections, screens went blank and theyre gone forever. Theyre just trying to get rid of the robots, because theyre not the "right" kind of people, as a reference to our social politics. The race/gender/sexuality thing. So they kinda just walk all the robots into a large metal box that gets really hot and makes them neatly disappear.

I disagree withcthem and agree with Zee Garcia of Dice Tower fame: "you can play this game in 45 minutes, cool, but I LIKED my 90 minutes of playing this. Do you also try to eat stakes as fast as humanly possible? Did you 3ven taste the game?" Or sth like that

This remains one of your best talks, you guys nailed it. Unfortunately pay to win continues to ruin games. I know the weight classes thing for games was a joke but as someone who has always had less money I would 100% prefer not to play against rich kids who buy cheap shit. Yes it feels good to beat them and there are some potential ethical issues, but most of the time it just ruins the experience to say “oh I lost because they spent thousands of dollars”

World’s End Chapters 1-3 are amazing Flash games with a small but dedicated fanbase, currently unplayable but may move to mobile or Steam eventually. They’re tactical combat story games set in a dystopia and have fun dialogue, lore, and character design. Would love to see those games get some attention. Also Rym the beard is awesome you look great.
