The only drawback on timer fill machines like Speed Queen, is if you had poor water pressure, they didn't fill properly.

Did you pour pink fabric softener into the machine with your detergent?
@canadianwashercollector309517 күн бұрын
I don't really use fabric softner as it irritates my skin and It is really bad for gunking up the plastic outer tub on these Kenmore/Whirlpool designed washers. My grandmother used to use fabric softner in this washer for 30 years though she always diluted it. I cleaned the inside of this machine in August of this year and pulled the inner and outer tubs apart and it was still gunked up from all the softner. 🤮 For my greasy work clothes I generally use a mixture of detergent, liquid Oxi Clean and liquid degreaser. Thanks for watching. 👍

I'm almost surprised that Whirlpool didn't retain the Kenmore name for its premium line washers and dryers.

Was this washer made by Whirlpool or Ingis? I'm thinking Inglis as I have never seen a KM like that in the US.

Nice Washer. I get a laugh out of the "Eurotech" label on a machine that was made in Ohio USA.
@canadianwashercollector3095Ай бұрын
Thank You! 👍 I never understood why they called it that either...especially when the matching dryer is called a Fabric Master....
@dualactionsurgilator24 күн бұрын
@@canadianwashercollector3095 Maybe call it Ohiotech and I don't know what to make of the dryer name. Here if they had the front lint filter they were called Ultra Fabric Care and were paired with the same labeled washers Which had ATC. We had an 80 series set of these in the house I grew up in.
@canadianwashercollector309523 күн бұрын
@dualactionsurgilator Right? I have no idea why they branded the machine the way they did. Its identical underneath to any other 80 series. Guess I can call my set an obscure variant.

Beautiful machine! I love seeing what Sears had made for the Canadian market. The control panels look quite a bit different from the U.S. ones. I concur with another comment here, though. The neutral drain pack needs to be replaced.

What's the advantage solid, non perforated tubs? Less expensive to produce?🤔

I believe that would be a factor yes. If I remember correctly solid tub Speed Queen washers were marketed for their durability compared to other washers of the time.

I had a late aunt that had a 1972 Kenmore belted washer-American made-it agitated like this on the regular cycle-about 46 agitation strokes per minute on Normal cycle-and spun at about 515 rpm-normal spin for a Kenmore washer at the time.

Isn’t it supposed to drain first then spin.?
@attlevi18 күн бұрын
Sometimes but not all the times.. if you lift the lid while draining, it will advance the timer to spin. I like this better because doing this moves the suds that floats the dirt and any particulates, away & into the outer tub. Also , by it spinning as it drains , it's less likely to kick from being off balance. The only thing I didn't Iike is that it didn't spray the clothes during the first spin long w spinning which is critical to remove the scum buildup around the agitator, inner & outer tub. The full water pressure from the house & the swift back/forth action of the dual agitator makes this analog priceless.
