To me this has got to be one of the best washers of the 70's!!! I used these 20 to 30 times everyday in the laundromat that I ran back in the 70's to do drop off service and they were real work horses and very rarely did we every have a break down!!! Thanks for the great video!!!

That machine appears to be in AWSOME condition. Never really to much trouble always minor things that went wrong like solenoid burn out on older machines timers & pumps motors and that sort of thing. Very rarely was there a drive issue, but it did happen occasionally after 10 or 15 years. Largely you got your moneys worth back then and they weren’t cheap to buy also back then. They were an investment that paid off.

You can say that again. I got these for a very good deal the fellow I bought them from got them new in 1976 and pretty much had them in and out of storage for most of their life. Overall they haven't really seen a whole lot of use. Everything underneath was very healthy sounding when I first tested it and much to my surprise it didn't leak a single drop of water.

🤩🤩🤩 I've never seen a SQ do a cool down before!

Sure they did. Optioned out you could get a budget minded model or go top of line. They eventually ran them more like what you’d see in later in 80’s as far as cycles.

My parents had a pair of early 1980's Speed Queens that had the perforated tub in the washing machine. They were white in color.

My aunt had one just like this I remember when I was young it was in white and instead of the black border it was wood tone. She swore by her speed queen. I remember that she had it for years she finally replaced it with a newer version.

I have always wondered how Speed Queen washers spun the waster out of the clothes when it didn't have holes in the wash tub like all other brands do?
@canadianwashercollector3095 Жыл бұрын
Usually on machines that don’t have holes in the basket either drain from the bottom of the tub beneath the agitator or via small openings at the top of the tub.

What year did they quit doing the cool down pause in the speed queen washing machines
@canadianwashercollector3095 Жыл бұрын
I believe they quit doing it sometime in the 1980s. There are people in the washer community more knowledgeable about machine history than me. I just enjoy fixing old washers up.

Nice washer but where are the holes in the tub?
@Channel-cm7yc2 жыл бұрын
Solid tub SQ’s never had them in the MaGraw Edison era.

@@supremesfan2 wouldn’t some of the water be left over? And how can the cloths come out damp?
@UrOpinionsSucc2 жыл бұрын
@@biggysmoovemusic7777 nah, there's a drain in the outer tub that drains everything out. And the clothes come out almost dry! Due to high spin speeds. The motors in the old machines are powerful! Along with the transmission.

Why did Speed Queen stop manufacturing the solid-tub washers & go to the perforated-tub design?
@patcola73357 ай бұрын
Raytheon bought them from McGraw-Edison.

Das in solch einer Maschine die Wäsche sauber wird ... Ich weiß mal nicht....🤨🤔
