Thank you for the detail's. Did you use something like dynamat on the inside of the roof panel before applying the roof insulation? If so, what type of adhesive did you use? One more question what can I use for the quarter windlace since the reproduction ones do not fit. Thanks again
@greggrichhartdesigns961622 күн бұрын
I use Fat Mat Rattle Trap Extreme which is their "super stick" version and works well on roofs. Some products don't stick as well especially hanging upside down and setting in the sun. I haven't had any problems with this one. I haven't had a problem with the reproduction quarter wind lace. What problem have you had that it doesn't fit? I can try to help. Thanks for your comments and for watching!
@shannonvaughan435420 күн бұрын
The aftermarket quarter windlace was discontinued as far as I know. I do have a pair of the reproduction ones that i was going to dye blackt that is dark ivy green. They are very poorly made. When I try to fit them, they are way too stiff to conform to the bend at the top quarter panel. Also, the glue that holds them together starts to separate. I would love to see you do a video on your way of installing these. Thanks

@ 0:27 The back is squared and level using the rotisserie jig as reference. Episode 2 of this build didn't mention the cause of the twist, just a redo once the twist was discovered. Could it have been from the torque of that Boss 9 mill?
@greggrichhartdesigns961627 күн бұрын
Good question. I believe it was created by the shop that replaced the rear quarter panels. The previous owner had it at a body shop that did less than quality work. My understanding is the owner got tired of it setting at this shop so he picked it up in "baskets". He then got discouraged and sold the project as it was when I started. I cut it apart and straightened everything so its like its was original. I will be showing more videos of this project soon. Thanks for watching.

I think your method is the best compared to the lead so long as that void is 100% sealed and filled or it is able to ventilate to prevent any condensation from occurring inside that void.

I drill 2 holes through the back and pour epoxy into one until it comes the other. Also leave the holes open for ventilation. Thanks for your comment and for watching!

That is great information for improving the sail panel. I have a question about black out hood treatment. I was thinking about using dark argent or orgaasol paint for that. Do you know if ford painted these cars With acrylic enamel? What are your thoughts? Thanks
@greggrichhartdesigns96165 ай бұрын
Thanks for your comment and for watching! The black out on top of hood was painted with lacquer. I use a SEM hot rod black for this car. It is a 2 part catalyzed paint which is much easier to maintain than lacquer. I hope this is helpful.
