Little bass sure do make fishing days interesting. They'll eat when nothing else will, in some terrible conditions for fishing. The only fish that are more consistent are bluegill, and not everyone wants those.

I still believe your pond holds a population of fish in the 5lbs range, maybe larger. I know we have a few ponds in AZ that are less than 7 acres and have produced 12lb bass. I don't know your Clifornia's pond's history but it would be neat to see you target the larger fish using a few finesse baits and techniques.

Are you throwing 4-5oz baits on it? Does it hold up over time?

I run a mustad infiltrator 4/0 and a large owner spring lock. Was able to get 5 bass on 1 tanuki. Tight lines 🎣

The swinging is very similar to gambler lures soft swim baits

That goes to show the power of finesse. My biggest was 5lbs on a shiner and i haven't even came close to that on lures. Mostly itty bitty smallmouth and spotted bass for me.
