Ill never understand the need for something ugly non functiopnal but fast. like if it needs to function it wont and if it needs to look good it doesnt.... So Why? Do this and hold perfect quality layer adhesion and within 0.1mm then maybe could have a use. I keeping thinking of like burnouts for cars but even those serve a purpose in some cases.

We'll be seeing two things in the next 5 years - speeds like this for built-in benchy's becoming normalized, and IR/chamber sensors to pause printing when someone sticks a hand in the chamber or opens the door, lol. that would seriously hurt if that print head hit ya lol. nice vid, cool mods!

With the current settings do tou see detail loss just curious what nozzle your running
@DuckyWhy
@DuckyWhy 5 ай бұрын
I think the detail loss more has to do with the input shaping than the stepper current, the stepper current just allows for the motors to provide more torque. hotend is a modded 3rd party hotend with a CHT nozzle.

On this printer I've done dual auxiliary fans for improved cooling, CHT hotend and dual ceramic heaters for improved flow rates, and actively cooled motors to allow for higher motor currents. I have also repositioned the MC board fan to allow for the higher motor currents as well.

How much of a difference have you had in print times when going for a high quality finished part after the mods? Have you seen any impact on material performance, such as reduced layer strength?
@DuckyWhy
@DuckyWhy 8 ай бұрын
as far as difference in print times, I can go about 1.65 times faster than I did before with no detriment to quality or strength. although hotend temperatures are typically bumped 10-20 degrees higher than usual
