So after you installed the new front bowl on prop and also the heavier power, 60 470 KV motor was you still able to retain a good CG on the plane with the battery shoved further back.. I did this similar to a 1700 plane I had and I had to actually put fumy tires on it to lighten up the front to get my CG. I am wanting to put that motor in my carbon cub 2.0 but I was worried about the CG and what I need to do, and I was also thinking how much more weight that Debro bought on prop is going to make it way as well in the front end? Any info you can give me I would so kindly appreciate Dan thank you so much

That is good to know if it works, but why would you want "pedal assist" if you are just trying to walk up a hill or loading the bike on a bike, etc?

Thanks Dan for the great video. I actually used it to figure out how to get the wheels off. I then installed a new carbon fiber landing gear. It moved the gear 1/2" forward which really helps with the nose overs. I gained 1 1/2" more wheel base and 1" more ground clearance. Overall a win/win.

Hi Dan, I just wanted to thank you for sharing your design. I can see that you've put more thought into it than most. I didn't see anyone else employing a pulley between the shock chord and the model but I'm definitely going to do that after watching your video. It goes a long way towards explaining many of the crashes I saw where the model came off the launcher with the wrong attitude. Hope you keep coming up with ideas for people in the RC community to improve their flying experience with. Happy flying!

Good idea. I finally got all the cables, charger, etc. that I need. Have flown her a few times, but am not overly impressed with this plane. It is very light and overly fragile, so it mainly just decorates the rafters in my shop.

Your history of the plane and its roll in is incorrect. It was never raced at Reno. It was raced in 1946 Cleveland Air Races. It was raced by Cook Cleland. Goodyear was a licensed manufacturer of the Corsair. Brewster mfg. was also licensed to build the Corsair. The plane was modified from a stock version for racing. I don’t know the military history of this particular plane but it was not produced for air racing. It was declared surplus from the navy. I know the people who had owned her for many years.

Very helpful. I found that I could pop the hubcaps off with a short Stanley Knife blade. the circlips could be removed by inserting a fine-bladed screwdriver in the holes at the rear of the circlip. a small pair of pliers was great for popping them back on. But thanks so much for revealing how it all goes together.

nice ! the mod is to move the ESC as far forward in the cowl to get better air flow when using 4s. I also use a (MRC) HobbyEagle 16V EZ-Plug Capacitor ( SKU: HEA16VC ) Y'd in the throttle channel for voltage fluctuations I had on my Bigfoot. It worked !!! It won't hurt anything and solved my motor problems..Just a thought...have a great New Year !..

Thanks for the tips! All my 4s packs are 30-60C and I am using a capacitor in a spare plug on the receiver. I am hoping the connector re-solder and throttle calibration will do it. Hope to get her back up early this week. Will report back. Fly safely and have a great new year!

the BNF you can get it in the air in 25 minutes. but PNP certainly not. the shotty phillips head screws should be replaced with hex-driver hardware(because the ones they use love slipping). and the foam is too stiff also and cracks easily. still a decent plane for how little building there is, not setting spars in, waiting for glue to dry, etc etc.

It was my first build. A little difficult, but I found myself tinkering away for hours and enjoyed it. Flys sport or 3d, takes hard landings well. Just glue it back together and back in the air. The servos and motor are junk. Replace em. Value hobby motor and props. Budget friendly and very adequate.

Dan, WH stands for Watt Hours and is a measurement of energy. Watts=Volts*Amps. It's a better representation of total energy than amp hour. As a higher voltage contains more energy per the same amp hour. Ex. 6s 5Ah = 110Wh 3s 5Ah = 55.5Wh. Hope I made it a little clearer! Thanks for the helpful vid didn't even know my Carbon Z had a removable tray. (got it used)
