𓂀 Kemitians practiced dream therapy, seeing dreams as divine messages to guide their healing and well-being. 𓂀 They used essential oils like myrrh and frankincense for spiritual rituals, skincare, and wound care. 𓂀 Honey was a prized medicine, used to heal wounds and prevent infections with its antibacterial properties. 𓂀 They brewed herbal teas from chamomile and peppermint for relaxation, digestion, and overall health. 𓂀 Aromatherapy with lotus flowers was common, as its scent was believed to elevate mood and enhance spiritual clarity. 𓂀 Kemitians engaged in breathwork and meditation, using controlled breathing to calm the mind and connect with the divine. 𓂀 They believed in energy alignment, using diets, rituals, and practices to maintain harmony between the body, mind and spirit. 𓂀 Sacred water baths were used for both physical cleansing and spiritual purification, symbolizing renewal. 𓂀 Some ancient practices, like body awareness and stretching routines, resemble modern yoga, focusing on balance and holistic well-being. #kemeticyoga #kemeticyogateacher #smaitawi #wellness #blackyogis #ancientafrica

𓂀 The third eye chakra, known as Ajna in Indian traditions and MER in Kemetic spirituality, is the center of intuition, wisdom, and spiritual insight. Located in the center of the forehead, MER serves as the gateway to higher consciousness, helping you tap into your inner knowing and clarity. When balanced, this energy center enhances your ability to trust your intuition, make aligned decisions, and perceive the world beyond the physical realm. When MER is out of balance, it can manifest in several ways. Emotionally, you may experience confusion, lack of direction, or difficulty trusting your instincts. Overthinking, self-doubt, or feeling disconnected from your purpose are common signs of imbalance. An overactive third eye might lead to overanalyzing or even feeling detached from reality, while an underactive one may leave you feeling spiritually stagnant or disconnected from deeper wisdom. Physically, imbalances in MER can show up as headaches, eye strain, or issues with your nervous system. In my own experience, I’ve noticed that blockages in MER often arise from unresolved beliefs or fears about trusting the unknown, sometimes rooted in past experiences where I felt disconnected from my higher self. These unresolved energies can block the flow of intuition and clarity. If you’re ready to align your third eye chakra, follow the link below and receive a fr33 7-day Kemetic Chakra Balancing Program (no experience required). 𓂀 www.dinahakua.com/free-kemetic-program #kemeticyoga #MER #thirdyechakra #intuition #chakraalignment #kemeticyogateacher

𓂀 The throat chakra, known as Sekhem in Kemetic spirituality and Vishuddha in Indian traditions, is the center of communication, self-expression, and truth. Located at the throat, Sekhem is your gateway to authentic expression, allowing you to articulate your inner truth and connect your thoughts with your words. When balanced, this energy center empowers you to speak with clarity, confidence, and compassion, fostering meaningful connections with the world around you. When Sekhem is out of balance, it can manifest in various ways. Emotionally, you might struggle to express yourself, feeling unheard or misunderstood. You may find yourself holding back your true thoughts out of fear or overcompensating by speaking excessively or harshly. An overactive throat chakra might lead to dominating conversations or being overly critical. Physically, imbalances in Sekhem may appear as a tight or sore throat, jaw tension, neck stiffness, or even thyroid issues. Sometimes, throat chakra blockages stem from experiences we don’t immediately associate with communication. For example, I’ve personally encountered Sekhem imbalances linked to trauma in childhood - times when my voice was silenced, and I learned to silence myself. These unspoken words and suppressed truths can linger in our energy, creating tension that affects how we express ourselves today. If you’re ready to bring your throat energy into balance, follow the link in my bio and receive a fr33 7-day Kemetic Chakra Balancing Program (no experience required). 𓂀 #kemeticyoga #sekhem #throatchakra #chakraalignment #kemeticyogateacher

… Located in the heart area, it serves as the bridge between your physical and spiritual self, radiating warmth, empathy, and balance when in harmony. This energy center is your inner oasis of unconditional love - for yourself, for others, for the world, and the universe. When Khepera is out of balance, it can show up in many ways. Emotionally, you might feel closed off, disconnected, or overly self-critical. You may struggle with trusting others or have difficulty forgiving, both yourself and those who’ve hurt you. On the other hand, an overactive heart chakra can manifest as overattachment, codependency, or an overwhelming need to please others at the expense of your own well-being. Physically, blockages in this area might feel like tightness or heaviness in the chest, difficulty breathing deeply, or even upper back and shoulder tension. There are some heart chakra imbalances that might not immediately come to mind. For example, I’ve personally experienced heart blockages stemming from breastfeeding trauma. I nursed my child for two years, and even now, I can feel the residual tension and emotional weight in my chest area from that intense and deeply giving period of my life. Our heart chakra isn’t just affected by love and relationships but also by how we give of ourselves in ways we may not even realize. 𓂀 In Kemetic Spirituality, we call the energy centers in our bodies Aritu, which are similar to Chakras in Indian spirituality. Ancient Kemetic texts, like Chapter 71 of the Pert em Hru (often called the Egyptian Book of the Dead), mention these energy centers. Kemetic ancestors understood these energy points and their amazing properties. Remember, energy can attach itself to you, your thoughts, emotions, and the energy field around you - your aura. When your Aritu are out of balance, you may notice shifts in your energy, even if it’s not immediately clear what’s causing them. There are many beautiful and effective ways to restore harmony to your Aritu. You can work with colors, foods, sound and vibration, crystals, symbols, palm healing, movement, or visualization meditations to realign your energy and bring everything back into balance. If you’re ready to bring your energy into balance, join my mailing list here www.dinahakua.com/free-kemetic-program and I’ll send you a fr33 7-day Kemetic Chakra Balancing Program (no experience required) to help realign your 7 major Aritu by the end of the week. 𓂀 #kemeticyoga #kemeticreiki #kemeticyogateacher #afroyoga #sacralchakrahealing #sacralchakra

Interestingly, the word “chakra” actually comes from ancient Kemetic terms like kara (shrine), karkar (cylinder), and thesu/kasu (knots). Aritu/Chakras are sacred energy centers within us, often visualized as small, swirling wheels that help us both give and receive energy. When your energy is high and flowing freely, your Aritu move quickly and in harmony. But when your energy dips, they slow down, and sometimes they stop altogether. That’s when you might feel a shift - like something is “off” - even if you can’t quite put your finger on what it is. Working on your Aritu/Chakras helps bring balance back to your energy, clear out blockages, and realign. If you feel like it’s time to bring your energy into balance, just send me a message with the word NETERU, and you’ll receive a fr33 7-day Kemetic Program to realign your 7 major Aritu by the end of the week. 𓂀 #chakraalignment #chakrabalancing #vibratehigher #kemeticyoga

I totally understand that feeling of something missing from yoga teacher training. It’s important to remember that teacher training is just the foundation - the real growth and learning happen afterward as you continue your journey. 😊Don’t worry, embrace and enjoy what you’ve already gained from the training. There’s so much you can explore and study on your own to deepen your practice and knowledge. You’ve got this! 🌿✨

✺ ✺ ✺ Kemetic Yoga stands out from other practices because it is rooted in the deep wisdom of Kemet, ancient Africa. What I’ve noticed among many drawn to Kemetic Yoga is awareness. It is often practiced by Black people who understand systemic oppression and seek a practice that reflects their reality. This kind of awareness and reflection is something I find completely missing in yoga spaces globally. I must admit that I gave up on being frustrated with yoga communities in 2019. There were so many incidents that showed me most yoga spaces are entrenched in yt supremacy, and I no longer wanted to put my energy into them. That’s also when I began focusing on online yoga - because the people interested in decolonizing yoga are mostly located in the US, UK, Brazil, and the Caribbean. Sadly, Afro-German communities and yoga spaces in Germany seem not to be ready yet. Genuine interest is missing. There are only two other yoga teachers in Germany I know of who also focus on decolonizing yoga: @yogamitsangeeta and @rohitdecolonizesyoga (if you know of more, please let me know!). However, while Kemetic spirituality may seem complex at first, its essence is simple. It centers on Ma’at - the principle of balance, truth, and harmony. It’s about bringing balance to all areas of life.

☽☽ ☽☽ ☽☽ ☽☽ Ancestral Prayer for New Beginnings In this sacred moment, I call upon my ancestors, Those who have walked the path of courage before me, Who faced darkness with open hearts and steady souls, And whose wisdom flows through my veins like a river. I honor you, ancestors, guardians of resilience and hope, For the strength you lend me, for the courage that echoes in my bones. As I stand on the edge of a new beginning, I release the chains of fear, For I know I am held by your spirit, your guidance, and your love. I release the weight of doubt that clings to my soul, And I let go of the past that no longer serves me. With each breath, I embrace the unknown, trusting that the path will appear, As the dawn unfolds gently, bringing light where shadows once lay. Teach me, ancestors, to walk with faith in each step, To listen deeply to the voice within that knows the way forward, And to believe in the strength of my spirit, unshaken and whole. For I am the continuation of your legacy, a vessel of your dreams. May my heart be open, fearless, and ready, May I meet each new dawn with courage and grace, And may my journey be guided by your wisdom, As I step forward into this new beginning, bold and free. Ase. Ase. Ase.

In sacred ritual, I reclaim my power, From generations of theft, exploitation, abuse, and inhumanity. I call upon the spirits of my ancestors, those whose shoulders I stand upon, Those who walked before me, who fought, bled, and endured so I could be here. I honor Mother Earth, the eternal giver of all life, Who welcomes me with open arms, Who nourishes my body and spirit with her sacred waters, fertile soils, and boundless skies. I honor the universe, the great spirit that breathes life and consciousness into my being, The force that unites all - seen and unseen, past, present, and future. I reclaim my power from the chains of generational trauma, I release the wounds that have echoed through our bloodline, And with an open heart, I choose to forgive those who have harmed this earth. I choose to speak the truth, to stand in the unwavering light of honesty, To raise my voice for justice and liberation, unyielding and rooted. I call upon all that is sacred to guide me in healing what remains unspoken, For I know that true freedom is cultivated in the soul, not just the soil. I remember that the earth is not mine to own; it is borrowed, a sacred gift for future generations, And as I walk my path, I ask myself: what legacy will I leave behind? May my actions be offerings of love, healing, and renewal, May my steps honor the lives yet to come, And may we all find our way back to the heart of the earth, Where our spirits soar freely, and our ancestors’ blessings surround us. Ase.Ase.Ase. Find guided prayer meditation ♡ inside WATA Movement.
