Sometimes putting the ball joints in the freezer overnight and waiting till the last moment to put them can help quite a bit
@billcampos33002 ай бұрын
You don’t need to remove all those bolts. You just need to remove the bolt on the bulb joint. Then the knuckle will drop. It will drop far enough to get underneath. But it’s best if you have a car lift if you don’t have a car lift, you’re gonna be on the ground lying down, trying to remove the ball joint with pressing with your hands and feet So please get a car lift if possible

Do I need a alignment after replacing ball joint
@MB____----Ай бұрын
It would be recommended..... As bushings and ball joints wear it will change the geometry of the alignment. You could replace it and then monitor the tyre wear. But if you're replacing components on both sides, definitely get an alignment

Thanks For putting up this video. My Z1 ball joints just came in. Replacing both sides today. My 06' G35 Coupe has a like 68k original miles, and driver side starting to fail. Replacing the hub/bearing as well. Looking forward to bringing it back in spec.

Hello Bro, I need parts and accessories for the interior and exterior of a 1990 240sx, where can I get them?

Thank you!! So helpful!!! Since many people wrote in various places that the ball joint they bought didn't fit for various reasons, I decided to buy ball joints from three different auto parts stores. Even my old mechanic who replaced the other ball joint 2 years ago said the part I bought didn't fit and I had to buy another. In the end, I only had to use one - from NAPA auto. Supposedly it is made by Dorman. My only small issue was reinstalling the new ball joint. None of the installation collars from the Powebuilt ball joint service kit really fit good enough. In the end, I used one of the collars that was super right and I had to file down rough edges on the inside of the collar and then I put some motor oil on the inside and also on the ball joint rubber as lubrication. Then I was just able to squeeze it over and around the ball joint without damaging the rubber boot. After I pulled it off I wiped off that motor oil. Great tip to buy C-clip ring removal tool. Thanks again. I never would have attempted this job without your video. P.S. I intentionally went slowly and it took about 3 hours.

Nice explanation with the wiring, easy to follow. Speech suggestion, try to avoid using fillers in your talking; “um”, “uh”, “mmm.” Goes a long way in both content and every day life. Great video, like the project SX, hope to see it come to life soon!

It looked like the ball joint boot was twisted a little bit on the install did you notice that?

Isn't it best practice to replace the whole control arm components when worn anyway? Or is that simply unnecessary with consideration for what you demonstrate in this video? I have my doubts that every mechanic will be trained in the intricate use of the ball joint tools you've used here to make it cost effective.

I kind of followed MotordyneG35 on KZbin and didn't listen to him about the black AutoZone Box. They only had the Orange/Red cases and he was right, it didn't work. I also picked up the Harbor Freight set with the extra attachments and I was able to pull the old ball joint out. The problem came when I tried to install the new ball joint. The press wasn't tall enough to fit an attachment on the top and bottom (because you need some sort of large cylinder for the bottom of the ball joint to extend past the hub hole) so I believe I used something from the red kit of AutoZone. I'm still trying to find a ball joint kit we can buy that simply works the way it needs to because the Harbor Freight version and the AutoZone don't work "properly". By the way, the TRK ball joints worked great for me. Came with the cone and the protector for the ball joints.

Sound deadening is awesome but it can hide any rust building underneath and be a pain in the butt to get off when you realize something is hiding underneath. I bet it made driving the car much much nicer though.

I just got some pretty aggressive blitz 03s for my stock body Supra mk4. They poke out about 2 inches past the fender. I have coilovers and arms on the way. Once those come in I’m going to play with the suspension a bit and the chamber. Although it pains me, i may have to do this to my car. Thanks for the video!!

i’ve been on my civic si cambered due to fitment. fb6 with work ls207 10j +25 squared. rolled the front fenders and i’m running -2 up front so basically stock, but in the rear it’s -6 just to fit. doesn’t ride the best simply cause the rear and i’ve been doing it for years now about to suck it up and roll the hell out of my rear quarter to get it closer to the front. it’s fun for a bit but not worth it in the long run

This video was very helpful n informative. I Tried it just like you but it was in no way that easy for me. I got the old one out n I’m still trying to figure out how to put the new one in. The piece that goes over it to push it down sheered off the edge so now it has nothing to hold onto. N Idk how you tightened it with a ratchet mine will barely move with the biggest of breaker bars …. Just my luck I guess 🤦🏾♂️ nevertheless great video
