Nice and informative video , can we connect smart locks directly to WiFi access point without Yale bridge?
@mountainbreezediy68026 күн бұрын
Thanks! Some of the latest locks now have built in WiFi so no longer need a bridge - so for example the Yale Assure Lock 2 has built in WiFi so if doesn't need a bridge. The model that we installed is not so fancy so still needs a bridge. Hope that helps!

Nice job! I'm getting ready to do it. Won't there be extra silicone on the sides after pushing it down with the profiler? I doubt I'll get such a straight border. Wondering how to remove it. Did you use any cutters for it?
@mountainbreezediy68022 ай бұрын
If you start from the largest size of the profiler and work your way down- that way you are not removing too much silicone all in one go (which as you say can cause it to spill out the sides). I normally do 2-3 passes. If you do have any extra on the sides after doing this it will be far enough away from your silicone join that you can just scrape it off without ruining your nice clean silicone line. 👍 Any other questions let us know! Good luck!

@@mountainbreezediy6802 Thank you for the explanation! I see some people use tape to ensure a straight line, but I'll try it your way.

The main important thing is omitted: the perimeter gap 3/8 should be filled with flexible rod and soliconed for water 💦 proof, so that water doesn’t go under the flooring

i am renting and the bedroom windows are letting a big breeze in. so taken away the plastic trim to discover where the window offers up to the mullions there is gaps so expanding foam around then putting trim back on. its annoying knowing that window fitters dont put ant insulation around where it meets the brick. something that is expandable. now when the next breezy day comes along it will be fine also got to reseal outsidw the windows aswell

how long do you wait between applying the bead of silicone to scraping it off?

Can I use it to fill hole in wall caused by nails?
@mountainbreezediy6802 Жыл бұрын
This type of silicone is not paintable so I wouldn't recommend it. You can buy paintable caulk in tubes that would work to fill nail holes but I would recommend something like Polyfilla for the best finish👍

Haha out of 100 of these videos, maybe two will be able to actually do an inside corner perfectly without tooling. I don't tool my caulking and it's almost perfect every time.. Especially against a wood, concrete or vinyl siding, you don't want to have to tool it.

Maybe skip it on the door frame. And sand the old baseboard down to smooth it out before you paint it
@magnificentmuttley20842 жыл бұрын
That is NOT the way to remove those sliderobe doors!!! These people unscrewed the roller assemblies - totally unnecessary. All you have to do is look at the roller and notice the circular part, put your finger there and unclick it by lifting it up slightly. It does take a little effort but when assembling it just clicks into place. And then all you have to do is lift the door away.

Interesting option for rentals or cheap flips. The trim that was on the wall was trashed and had about 8 layers of paint caked on it. If I was going to the trouble of replacing a floor I would have trashed that old trim.

@mountainbreezediy68022 жыл бұрын
If your door is a similar style to ours- you can lift the door off the tracks and then unclip the metal sides of the door. Once the sides are unclipped you can remove each section of the door. Hope that helps and please be safe!

Thanks for taking the time to leave your thoughts Rob! We've tried caulk before- but because our seasons are so varied here (e.g the house expands and contracts a lot) all the types of caulk we've tried have cracked really quickly and looked terrible (even when painted). If you have a brand you recommend to try would love to hear!
@arthurtennessen96802 жыл бұрын
@@mountainbreezediy6802 Well. if you are only trying to make it look better then you did right, I think. If you re trying to make it waterproof, then Pergo recommends sealing that gap between the baseboard and the new flooring with 100 percent silicone and then put the baseboard down or the quarter round down depending on if you removed the baseboard to paint it and help with removing the old flooring.
@Don1atUTube2 жыл бұрын
