We’re having problem in consistency of the ascaso baby t. It doesnt extract on exact programmed dose. It extracts way more than the target dose. Have you check the consistency of the wate output from the grouphead?
@CaffeMartellaSingapore
@CaffeMartellaSingapore 3 күн бұрын
@seiyonblem, let's say you want to extract 40ml. A volumetric based espresso machine will try to give you near 40ml (plus minus 5ml, usually more), but the time of extraction is not fixed. This will depend on whether your grind and tamping are consistent. If you grind coarser, then your extraction time will be shorter. If you grind finer than initial extraction setting, then it will take longer to extract 40ml. The inconsistency in volume extracted also depends on the electronic valve that start and stop the water from flowing. There is nothing wrong with your machine which extract more or less than 40ml as there are just too many factors affecting it. What the machine is trying it's best to do is to give you as close to the volume you set by varying the time.

For the price, the K6 dominates. In my country at least, the K6 is about half the price of the C40, yet it’s still worth the money. By this comparison, if you have the budget, C40 is worth it, but if you want to save it for something more important, then the K6 dominates.

If I need drink only espresso, do you think a lever machine like Cafelat Robot will be sufficient for me? Or does Odyssey Argos produce far superior espresso in terms of taste?
@CaffeMartellaSingapore
@CaffeMartellaSingapore 11 күн бұрын
Argos will be superior because of its PID control of temperature and 58mm basket.
@vinct7023
@vinct7023 7 күн бұрын
As said by OP, Argos is doing a better job at temperature control. However, Cafelat Robot do extremely good espresso as it is temperature does drop way less than others lever machines (without boiler and PID of course). Especially true with medium/ dark coffee. As long you have a capable grinder (mine is a Niche Zero), you can't be wrong with either machine. I do have an ECM Classika (single boiler) and will get soon a Cafelat Robot because of its simplicity (no need to pre-heat for 20 or 30 minutes like most E61 machines), very good espresso, minimal maintenance. I will use the Robot for my daily shoots (2) and will keep the ECM for when I do need to shoot several espresso in a short time, like for 6 or more people. Still, getting a second basket for the Robot (around 50$) can allow to produce many espresso quite rapidly, together with the ECM if you want to reduce coffee time production and let people be introduced with both machines. Quite entertaining for those not yet in the wonderful world of espresso :) PS : I never do any coffee latte so no need of steam, hence the single boiler choice for ECM

This recipe is only for filtered coffee and is not advisable for use in a boiler. My recommendation is to use it on espresso that is already extracted. From my testing, you don't need the water to be mineralised during extraction. It's good also when drip directly on espresso.
