Thanks for the information! I always wondered why my Lelit Mara X (heat exchange machine) didn't include instructions on how to descale it unlike my previous machine which was the Breville Barista Express (thermoblock). This also reminds me I need to take it to the store I bought it from for the bi-annual preventative maintenance!

7:44 any recommendations on how to put some food safe grease there? Could you do a video showing that?

I prefer to reduce chemicals backflush. And maintain good clean after every shot by purging and brushing by water then wipe it by microfiber cloth. Also bachflush by water only helps.

I saw a video of yours where you used distiled water and added Epsom and Baking soda, if we use this type of water that doesn't have calcium can we avoid descaling the machine indefinately? I have a Breville Dual Boiler and I descaled it twice and twice I had to send it back for repair because the Group Head boiler would not fill up. What are your thoughts?

This recipe is only for filtered coffee and is not advisable for use in a boiler. My recommendation is to use it on espresso that is already extracted. From my testing, you don't need the water to be mineralised during extraction. It's good also when drip directly on espresso.

@@CaffeMartellaSingapore Won't dimineralized water or RO water create corosion in the boilers? There is another recipe for espresso which is the Dr Pavlis method. google it. thanks for the reply :)

@@CaffeMartellaSingapore If you used dimineralized water it will corode the boilers right? There is the Robert Pavlis water recipe that is good for the Espresso machine and will never need to descale. Do a search on it.
