@@heybanana42 you should just measure yours with a measuring tape because your row gauge might be different :) you might also want a different length depending on your head size!

@@starcrossedknits i have another question. im doing the same amount of cast ons with 4.5 mm needles and worsted weight yarn the width turned out to be 3 and a half inches instead of 2 and a half. do you know what im doing wrong?
@starcrossedknits
@starcrossedknits Ай бұрын
@@bobamatcha9323 you should look up "gauge" - basically people have different ways of holding yarn and that means that they can use the same yarn and needle size, but it comes out to be a different size because they knit looser or tighter. since you're using the same stitch count and yarn as me but yours is coming out bigger, if you size down your needle size, that will help it come out smaller (by making your stitches be tighter). or if you like the fabric of yours or don't have a smaller needle, you can just cast on fewer stitches (i think 18 or 20 should bring you around 2.5). but also i'm not sure how much you knit before you measured that, sometimes the cast-on is a little wider, so i'd knit at least 1.5" or so before you measure the width

Hi! I would just like to say that I don't think the Hourglass sweater you mention at 6:54 is actually available? I cannot find it, and several other people on the Raverly page say the same thing. The only thing I've found about it is a list of corrections, along other corrections for other patterns. I saw in the projects that some people have completed the sweater after 2018 (when I think it was pulled from the internet), but I'm not sure where or how long they've had the pattern. Did you find the pattern? Thanks:)

The best LBJ tutorial I found yet!! I love your tarot card designs. Are the patterns gender neutral? Also, are the bust sizes in your chart the finished size? Thanks
@starcrossedknits
@starcrossedknits 3 ай бұрын
Aw I'm so glad! Yep the bust sizes in the chart are the finished size. The sweater doesn't have any bust shaping for instance, but I haven't designed mens' sweaters before so I'm not 100% sure on what qualifies something as gender neutral or not.. I would check against the sizing chart, and if you want to adjust I'm happy to help advise (eg for broader shoulders, larger biceps, longer arms, whatever)!

@starcrossedknits

@@MyYvonne45 personally i did not- but i did block my gauge swatches, for both the cardigan and the double-knitting gauge swatch (as many people have different tension in double knitting, and you want the row gauge to match or you want to pick up according to the row gauge ratio). i prefer to block once everything is complete!

There was a sweater designed from this tapestry back in the 1980s. It won a contest in a major knitting/craft magazine of the time. I believe Perry Ellis also put out a sweater at the time that had the unicorn from this tapestry on it, too. What’s old is new again.
