I read down through a lot of these comments It brings back a lot of memories and warm feelings. She moved people back then and she continues to impress, astound and heal people with her voice and her story. Thanks to AGT for introducing her to the world.

Some of the comments here seem to express bitterness that she did not "win" AGT. I do not share that sentiment. She is more beautiful in many ways that words cannot express. She will have a brilliant career in music and I wish her all the beautiful blessings that can possibly come to her.

Kevin Skinner's "talent" (his audition was the only decent performance he gave) isn't even COMPARABLE to this angel. Honestly... just proves yet again that America is biased when picking up their phones and voting. It is a talent competition, is it not? Kevin Skinner has gone back to catching chickens I'm sure.

haters will hate. Kevin is a humble singer.. He has Americans at his back! Its the way he takes everyone breathe away with his humble and genuine country singing. Americans had chose their winner. stop complaining. =P

For the record - I didn't care about Kevin Skinner, but yes, people who say she isn't expressive have a point. It takes talent to express, this is why Callas was famous - not because of her voice that many considered harsh, but because of her expressive ability. And while Barbara is very talented, a lot of people simply didn't like her voice or how she sings and many people don't like operatic singing. And while I didn't care at all for Kevin, clearly he moved some people.

Expressiveness is part of singing and requires talent too. Music is more than "beautiful noise", a singer in all genres has to express what he or she sings about. It is especially true for opera arias when the singer is supposed to act roles with the voice. BTW in documentary "The Audition" about finals of a prestigious opera competition - Met Council Auditions - one of the judges said "if they sing well but are boring we are not interested. It's about communication as much as singing".

Some people see racism everywhere. Have you thought for a moment that people didn't like her voice or her huge vibrato? Or don't like operatic soprano sound in general? Or they (people and producers) didn't want an "opera singer" to win that year? Or they viewed her as "professional"?

Not only is rock not dead its at an all time high. Just because it doesnt get radio play does not mean its not out there. So much good music out there.

I don't think racism has anything to do with it. She is an opera singer with a real operatic voice and training, and many people don't like opera, especially soprano voices. Yet as far as opera singers go, while she has a good voice, she isn't better than sopranos singing in provincial opera houses. So she doesn't get votes of opera fans, and she doesn't get votes of people who don't like opera. Considering this, she must've impressed a lot of people coming up second. Plus, AGT voting is rigged

Look Sharon said it, we all know Kevin doesn't have the greatest voice! but like Johnny cash his voice has soul, hurt, truth! You can feel the anguish, love, struggle, and hope literally flow through that unpolished raw voice. He wasn't meant to be a falsetto singer or a virtuoso, NO, the man was meant to inspire a nation of unemployed struggling lower class families who have nothing but their hope, dreams, and the loved ones that still believe in them! His talent is moving a nation not singing!

Barbara. God has plan for everyone and he has a better plan for you. Your appearance in AGT is just to tell the world there is a GREAT lady called barbara who can really sing. Please forgive the voters because most of them don't know how to appreciate real music. They grow up listening to Pop,Country etc. only. YOU ARE ACTUALLY THE REAL WINNER IN THIS CONTEST. I am pretty sure you will have a bright future. Please don't give up because chances are waiting for you.
