You see the digits on the left side of the chevrons? Those are ranges in scale of 100s and meters. So 2 is 200 meters and 4 is 400 meters and its like that for the rest too. And the crosshair you see at the top is either 50 or 100 meters. So before you shoot, you need to estimate the range of the vehicle. The slope you see on the right most side is the stadiametric rangefinder. To find the range, you have to fit in the vehicle's height in the slope. The bottom of the vehicle should be on the bottom line and then you look at where the top of the vehicle ends up. So like, if the top of the vehicle ends up at the digit 6. It means its 600 meters away from you. In the situation shown in this clip, the enemy APC was too close and you basically had to aim with the crosshair at the top.

The cross on top of the scope is 50m (or 100 not sure), if you had put the cross on the vehicle you would have hit it.

Communication is key - get your squad on mic with mic checks early on in the game - those quiet ones/new players- tell them they are doing well and praise them. Keep talking even if they do not respond - you will see the ones that are listening. Some people lack confidence to contribute so encourage it. Just keep talking... 1000+ hours deep into this great game too
