This was the first song I ever wrote for a Children's TV program, and Jackie Lee did a great vocal of it for us, she also sang the White Horses theme she was a great singer. Ron Roker

Before I started school my Mum and Dad taught me to read with the Rupert The Bear cartoons in the Daily Express and I had the annuals every Christmas. My brother even got me a Rupert calendar for my last birthday. Happy memories of a much simpler time. ❤

I used to have nightmares about this song as a kid, because to my 5 or 6 or whatever year old ears it sounded like she was singing "They are Rupert's friends and they're waiting here for you; so lock the door". I remember being terrified, wondering what I'd done to upset them. It leaves a mark, I tell you.
