Just goes to show how human he was! Great, great talent, gorgeous, generous, funny and HUMAN!! Just a man with more looks and talent than most. He put is pants on one leg at a time just like everyone else. If more people had realized this and not forced him to live in a bubble and expected him to be perfect, he might still be alive today! I know everyuone loved him, but he wasn't allowed by those who loved him to live his life!

Lol That mofo did enough drugs to kill an army of elephants! He would definitely NOT be alive today 🤭 or 23 years ago when you made this comment 🤣

@Sirscorps I agree he had "yes-men" in his entourage. They were mostly in it for the free gifts he gave them i.e. cars, houses and jewelry. The jumpsuits were of the era. Elvis wasn't a typical big star, in fact he was quite humble and always gave his fans an autograph. He never refused to sign an autograph throughout his career. The drugs were prescribed by idiot doctors - Elvis hated street drugs but was addicted to prescription drugs. He could sing songs and interpret them better than anyone.

Elvis was individual and unique in his style. He studied Karate and wanted a suit designed like that, to allow him to move around a lot on stage. Don't forget this footage was from 1972 and styles have changed a lot since then. Other acts were wearing the same thing, and actually copied Elvis's jumpsuits. Elvis always bought 'different' clothes even as far back as 1955. He was wearing bright suits and colourful shirts when everybody were wearing 'normal' clothes.

the guys that says " a lot of friend we have in the editor" is personal body guard and step brother, David Stanley, who is a good friend of mine and great speaker now. It's amazing to see this and hear David's voice. David became Elvis step brother at age 9 and his body guard at age 18 until he died, and then they tossed him to the curb because he couldn't protect Elvis from himself.. I know David today and it's amazing to hear his voice and see him on the left front passenger seat so young

He was very funny. In some of the films he made he did a great job with the comedy. "Follow That Dream" is especially good! He did make some good films but they often get slated and clumped together. Great name by the way, iluvEL!

Elvis took prescribed medication. He didn't "shoot-up" or take illegal drugs. All of the drugs he took were issued and prescribed by doctors. He wasn't a junkie. He had an addiction to prescribed medication and back in that day, 1977, some doctors were issuing them with a disregard to their patients safety. Today they know addiction problems and try to prevent issuing anything long-term which would cause their patients problems.

I agree about these guys, we all know about Sonny and Red West, and what fakes they were, and Joe shows the real side of himself here, he doesn't act anything like this in public, he might be just as fake as the Wests. Elvis didn't want people hearing him say or do things that might make him look bad and this was one of those times he was just a little too candid but he was only human and I think its okay to see this side of him.

Elvis was as "gentleman" as they come. Speak to anyone who was around him or knew him at the time and they will agree. Maybe his sense of fun and humour is lost on you.

Sonny West was the co-author of the song Oh Boy! That Buddy Holly made famous. He is the guy in the front, interestingly they all are wearing over-sized glasses en vogue in the 70's, something Buddy started in the 50's.

Can you explain whether you were on a commode or driving a car? When you die, you die. Why do you have a problem where he was when he died? He had a prescribed medication problem. He got his "drugs" from his doctor, who was later struck off because of his overprescribing to people. One of them was Jerry Lee Lewis. It is a common problem today and people can get help much easier than they could in 1977.
@paulreno112 жыл бұрын
You were responding to the comment of "Is it me or does Elvis seemed buzzed" and your answer "He died on the crapper, of course he was buzzed." Why respond to that message with where he died? I thought you were commenting on his drug use - not where he was when he died.

Hey honey, dont let this silly moment with the boys overshadow Elvis' great character. By the way, Priscilla was having an affair with Mike Stone at the time and Elvis knew nothing about it. Stay cool and dont hold this against Elvis.

This man was a wandering pharmacy, incredible that with almost 20 different pills in the body it is still possible to have sex. I´m really sorry for Elvis because he was one of the most lonesome people that have existed, taking drugs not to feel the incredible boredom he was always surrounded by. At a certain point it´s quite equal if it´s night or day of if you are famous or not - it´s all the same, trapped in a never ending one man show. He was sarcastic, not funny - and very tired...

@paulreno1 NY Dolls, Alice Cooper, Kiss, David Bowie, Mott The Hoople, The Sweet, T-rex, etc......weren't on stage wearing normal clothing. Although you're right about the jumpsuits, bands like the Bay City rollers, ABBA...ended up wearing them a few years later. Not that it looked good though, lol. Just because something is popular doesn't make it good. Elvis was the typical big star that teamed himself w/"yes men", did a bunch of drugs,& isolated himself. Too bad he couldn't write songs.

Of course nothing changes that Elvis was the greatest thing to happen to this sick world, but come on man. You really wanna believe he passed away sitting on his toilet? Ok then. I believe he didn't. Regardless, he died in the privacy of his own home which is the way most people would want to die. Not to mention, it also happened away from all those bloodsucker brown-nosers. He could've very well died on stage during a performance, but always stayed on his feet. TCB
