I wish I had watched this video before buying Asus Dual 4070 OC. Mine has really bad coil whine and I can't return it (You can't return pc components in Korea once you rip the package seal. This is why used markets are very active here). btw, my PSU is Hydro G Pro 750W from fsp.
@sparketech11 күн бұрын
@@bryanlee6311 that sucks. Sometimes a higher wattage power supply can help due to being more overbuilt and reduce those resonance frequencies. FSP power supplies used to be cheapo built but that one looks super energy efficient, barely has any heat sync for extra component cooling. What hurts that power supply not helping coil whine results any is the high voltage ripple on the 12 volt rail. The higher ripple can cause more whine and to a point possibly shorten components life span like a GPU. Not guaranteed to really make a difference but the smaller the process node of manufacturing the higher the tolerance and the more ripple can become a concern... The more efficient the PSU like platinum ratings the less component filtering is added to achieve those crazy high efficiencies. Don't think you need to worry but it is something to consider when purchasing a power supply, especially the 12 volt voltage ripple which goes to both the CPU and GPU components. Less ripple "technically" helps make a computer more stable as well. Toms Hardware tested the 850watt version and found a high voltage ripple. Another site tested the 750 watt and their con was the 12 volt ripple as well.

A newish 1TB or less storage drive would likely never get very hot. 4Tb or larger PCI-E 4.0 or faster could take advantage of the larger cooler nicely.
