Good for you challenging yourself and working toward the goal! I'm on a similar journey. My goal is monetized by Aug 12 (8 weeks from my start). I am also giving myself weekly assignments and then updating my progress in weekly videos. I've made some progress and feeling excited about my channel. One thing, the "earn" tab is about 5 days behind the analytics pages. So that may be why you are seeing the discrepancy. Also, if you want to see your current watch time without shorts, if you click on 'watch time' on the analytics page, and then 'see more' under the graph, you will see watch time detail. Select last 365 days for the time period, and then write down the total watch hours. Click on Filter, and in the drop down to the right, select Content Type, then Shorts. You can subtract the shorts number from the total to get your current watch time that counts for monetization. (This is all on a laptop, btw, not on mobile). Good luck! We can do this!

Capcut for desktop is actually a really good video editing software and easy to learn as well. I use that, and davinchi ressolve for more technical editing.

Your video quality (editing and all) is pretty good! I think your main focus will be consistency and topic for growth if that’s what you’re looking for which obviously for monetization lol. This series will do well for your channel but it will bring viewers and subbies who want yt journey/growth related videos, rather than the children’s related content.

Shorts views do count toward the desktop 😢 but nether the less, keep up the great work 🥰 Last week to this week stats for myself ❤ 738 > 786 subscribers 163k > 207k short viwes 67 > 77 public watch hours 🤍 I kinda lost hope over the past week because comparing the day to day statistics you don't see a huge change, however being able to reference back on your previous video has been insightful for myself. thank you for keeping me accountable ❤ Editing tip though for your future self (if you want, no pressure lol) try and keep your videos over 8 minutes even before being monetized. That way once you are monetized you can earn money from all your previous hard work ❤

Hey Chloe! Thank you so much for that insight! I had no idea about the 8 minute threshold, I'm assuming that's a requirement for any video that you'd like to monetize? I'm so glad that you were able to keep track of your own stats to see the progress you've made. It can definitely feel discouraging when you only see a tiny increase from one day to the next, but when you look at the big picture you start to see how far you've truly come. You're doing great!!
