is there any way to put an resistor inside the cim for getting rid of airbag light as an temporary fix? usually you can do so behind the clock spring when changing steering wheel for one without airbag but when its integrated inside the sim i dont know

Good idea installing the heat sheild. Also you left out one step when you installed that kit, you forgot to mention what you need to do if you want to use the engine cover.

You covered up the ECU venting port. That is not a good thing to do. It has to be able to breathe throught that port.

A little late and I'm sure, by now, you have figured out that that alternator requires an external voltage regulator, and your car is wired for one with an internal regulator. So, you probably could have swapped it out with the original Vega alternator.

I have the same error, left turn signal just starts blinking away randomly. I´m pretty sure it´s those contacts. The Tech 2 sees it as a normal "use" of the left blinker so thats why I dont get a error. When I turn the turn signal lever right, TECH2 recognizes that both Signals are being sent simultaniously and correctly states: Signal implausible

The bolts on your rear torque arm mount drop out. Mine have to be pushed up on the V6. The power steering lines block them so I have to drop the subframe. That said, it's important to replace the motor and transmission mount because any vibrations are picked up by the engine sensors and they read these as misfires. The timing gets thrown off and it causes engine damage. Pay a few hundred to fix the mounts or you'll be paying thousands to fix your engine.

@@konnerkoerselman6462 PS: the front torque arm mount is hard to find. They offer an insert. You have to use a hacksaw to cut out the metal ring on the old mount after you cut through the rubber bushing to get to the rim. You need a press or big vice to press in the new insert. If you use the Powerflex inserts you need to thin down part of the rear insert mount. For the front just use some silicon grease or vaseline to help you turn and twist the mount with inserts. I finished doing all my mounts. I have the Vermont Tuning Stage 2+ on my SAAB and the Do88 intercooler. I'm getting about 500hp and the new mounts stopped the misfires and I get instant power transferred to the wheels now.

@@shawnrivera4242 the whole assembly is the CIM cover. Turn signals are just part of it. You may really need to do some digging to find it, I just got lucky finding a complete NOS CIM

I owned the same bike from 1993 to 2009. I put over 100000 mls on it without any major problems or repairs. Beautiful bike, reliable, easy handling, low costs. It was just fun all over the years. Now i am 55 years old and i'm thinking if i buy me again a used cb1, just for fun and revive the memories😉. Nice video by the way. Greetings from Germany.

@@ddubsgarage8285 As far as i know there is still a Dynojet Stage 1 Carburator Kit from micron systems available and also sport air filters.I wish you good luck for your tuning project to squeeze some more power out of the cb1. One thing i can tell you from my experience is to avoid high revs with cold oil and change oil often, at least once a year and the engine will last a long time. Have fun with it.

Good, helpful video, albeit a bit scary when you had everything apart. I gave up trying to remove my airbag to replace my steering wheel control buttons but I noted your point about needing a SHORT stubby screwdriver. I think that might be where I was going wrong as the handle kept catching on everything.

@@GwynHopkins-j3z that screw driver really has to be the perfect length so you can release those springs holding the airbag in. I just happened to be lucky that one of my grandpas old wooden handle screw drivers was perfect!

The mount under the battery bolts on top of the gearbox, so it is gearbox-type dependent. There is one for the 5-speed manual, one for the 6-speed and one for the auto. Make sure you order the right one. Nothing to do with convertible

Before digging into your CIM I would check that your horn has a good ground and your connections are clean!

@@ddubsgarage8285 hi again I removed airbag today checked all wires there where fine. One thing i noticed was 2 wires going to the one of the 3 connector on the metal plate. It was mounted on the left side so i moved it to right side and now horn works. I was out driving turning wheel both sides and still works. Hope it is fixed i dont think it is CIM. I will test more this week. Cheers

With a blast luck of the draw seems to be part of the game. If it has a stock exhaust you’ll want to get rid of that. The stock ones crack.

I was able to get my blinkers to work fine, I used a metal brush to clean the corrosion, but now my high beams will not turn on. Somehow I must not be putting it together properly. I'll try again later.

It’s really tough to get it just right. It took me 3 separate tries to get everything in there and to where it would work right. I remember the pieces being small and tough to deal with. One of those “I need 4 hands” jobs.

Headlights on these things always cause me grief. I have an 07, same color combo and attempted putting in LED's and without a tech2 it was impossible to not get them to flash... I really don't want to have to buy a tech2 for $350+ just to replace the headlights. I did just put new Bilstein struts, shocks and new springs on from esaabparts and the car rides amazing... Like new and corners flat if you have not done that yet. Pretty pricy but well worth it.

Dang I guess I’m lucky I didn’t have those issues with my headlights. They were just foggy and I wanted to try something new. I’m actually riding on b6 bilsteins all around! Definitely improved ride quality.

The LEDS blinks because of the automatic control of light integrity that puts a current in the circuit, normal bulbs are not involved but LED light is. To avoid this problem I purchased the software from Maptun that disabled the lights control, so now I have LED lights with no flickering

When I took off the master cylinder the pushrod inside the servo was loose. And I noticed its a fixed one without any possibility to adjustment. Was it like that on your car too?

A low battery can cause a host of different issues. The computer, especially, needs a full and uninterrupted current.

It caused a world of grief on my wife's 2013 Impala. Battery was at 11.5 V and all kinds of codes were popping up. New battery, no codes at all. Sometimes we get lucky with a simple fix. (although, putting the Impala battery under a frame member wasn't kind of the engineers! ☠☠)
