Randomly found this product and your KZbin today when looking for a fuel gauge for my 19 Tuono that doesn't come with a fuel gauge even though it has every other electronic aid under the sun on it. I noticed the PA plates; I'm exactly an hour away from Erie, PA, right off the lake in Ohio. Maybe you're near me, and I could catch up with you sometime, as I'm also thinking about starting a motorcycle channel! I have every bit of camera gear you could imagine from getting into car photography, but I have never tried video. Hell, I even bought a Mavic 3 classic to get high-quality drone footage and still haven't learned how to use it, lol. Sorry for the ramble, but you definitely got a new follower here, and I hope to see you grow!

forgot to mention, I heard you talking about needing a lift. If you haven't bought one yet, Harbor Freight is running a sale on theirs until 2/1, where it's 100 bucks off if you're an insider member, which is only 29 bucks for a year. I plan on getting one tomorrow, as I'm tired of working on my bikes (I have 7, and my wife wants to murder me) while they are on the ground, haha. I'm turning 33 soon and starting to eat my words of not seeing the point of raising a bike off the ground a couple feet to work on it lmao.

Yoo! Thanks for the comments. Think I’m a little far from Erie but hey you never know. I did end up finding a lift. I would say if you’re considering starting a channel just go for it! It’s even better that you have good camera gear, I just have one GoPro 😂

Just picked up one of these gauges for my DR650, I have high hopes

I think I may have to recalibrate mine again, does this thing where it just walks back to full reading all the time. I’m sure once I get it it will be good though

Any updates?
@unskilledlabor13 ай бұрын
@@cce7087 sadly it wasn't really a positive experience, the unit is frustrating to program, and if you have a tank that wraps around the frame like my DR, you need a second petcock installed to get an accurate pressure reading. I found that the gauge fluctuated wildly if your incline changed at all. Last I knew the company isn't even making them anymore. A neat idea but flawed execution.

Keep making these videos - I love mine. Can highly recommend S22’s on this one, it sticks af

Hey thanks! In an ideal world I'll never sell this bike. its just too much fun.

I used to gauge my fuel level by knowing my range on reserve. As soon as i hit reserve iirc i had about 35 miles worth of fuel.
@ddubsgarage82853 ай бұрын
I don’t have a reserve 😅 it’s broken!

Does it lose calibration if battery disconnected?

Not sure, that is something I will have to test!

Hi ! Best ideea ! Do you think it works if I have fuel pump ? It s about Aprilia pegaso trail
@ddubsgarage82855 ай бұрын
I have a fuel pump as well. You will probably have to do some custom work like I did, but I’m pretty sure if you plumb the gauge in before the pump you should be alright

You never showed magnet install. Do you just drop in tank to bottom?
@ddubsgarage82855 ай бұрын
Oh the magnet does not get “installed” the magnet is used to calibrate the gauge. So you hold the magnet close to it to get it into certain modes. Kinda like magic 😂
@TheSillybits5 ай бұрын
@@ddubsgarage8285 I guess you pull the pressure sensor (membrane) to zero position with the magnet. At the same time, other magnetic influences may cause the calibration go off… I would check the position of the gauge again…
@ddubsgarage82855 ай бұрын
@@TheSillybits yeah I’m going to see if I can recalibrate it soon. This time I’m going to try the simple calibration and see what happens

Hows it still working and how long are the wires?
@ddubsgarage82859 ай бұрын
I still need to recalibrate it again, because the readout will drop but then it walks back up to the top which doesn’t make much sense if you ask me. The wires are long enough from the kit, you just trim them down or zip tie them up out of the way. It is a good idea to have some electrical terminals and some soldering tools to do a nice job though
@bretjones4389 ай бұрын
@ddubsgarage8285 I'm looking at this for my vw trike so I would need the wires to go probably 8 feet
@ddubsgarage82859 ай бұрын
@@bretjones438 at that length I would assume you’d have to solder some extensions on there
