I hope you keep your hair too but, I'm a Bald man and I like it! I'm 74 but my hair was thinning in my 30s and I finally shaved it all off at 45 and I've been quite happy with it. A lot of men feel self conscious about having thier shirts off so don't feel weird abut it.😊

Daan, great episode. I have shocking news for you : you are totally normal. You are not the Hulk!! But, yes you must learn to express your minor frustrations along the course of time to avoid a vulcanic anger eruption later on. See the problem is You know the build up, but some innocent bystander in your life could hit the trigger and now the are covered in the lava of your built up anger and not understanding what they did to be on the receiving end. Also, the last 3 minutes had me laughing until l almost cried. Develop your sense of humor, you are really funny.

I'm very proud of you. Continue to be you in whatever form you feel comfortable with. We all have questions about navigating our way through life, and those questions change as we gain more experience and our prospectives change. Keep doing what you're doing. The whole point of being LGBTQ+ is to be ourselves. We do not have to conform to any standard, not even the ones some LGBTQ+ people determined we should follow. Follow your heart and be happy. That's all anyone wants in life is to be happy.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and struggles. It takes a lot of strength and courage. It seems from you said that you are the transition did not help you with some mental health issues that you expected to be addressed by the procedure. I think it's important to try to identify and separate the issues that should be addressed without the rest of the transition that is left from the things that will be addressed with the procedures. It must be really hard since it's insanely hard for non-trans people to address their mental health. Imagine having a whole new gigantic layer of complexity to deal with and mixing all of that.

Just a thought. I had my hysterectomy to prevent possible diseases/cancer as I get older. It may be different for your situation. My doctor explained to me that as it shrinks and serves no biological purpose it can become diseased. Maybe discuss with your doctor as it may not be an issue for you.

hey there ✌ the youtube algorithm just picked this video for me, so it's first contact with your content.. maaan, i tried to refrain from making this stupid comment, but i can't.. at first i honestly wasn't certain what kind of transition you were talking about, so i looked up your channel info.. and then i realized it must be trans-age, cause you look about 10 years younger (at least on my phone's screen). amazing! 🙉🙈 all the best! ❤

Hell no, absolutely don't pay attention to society, cultural or peer pressure, you do exactly what feels right for you. Does everybody need to change everything? I've no idea, I'm not trans, but I just imagine the main things are the exposed parts, head/face, certainly if you are FTM then chest, but I think bottom surgery seems daunting, to me. No amount of peer or community pressure would sway me, you must make the decision which is right for you, and if others don't agree, agree to disagree. And, if you are unsure just delay it until you are sure, give yourself time to think. You're looking great as you are, as a gay man I'm something of any expert in how men look 😁. Be well mentally, be happy, please be self-centred and do what you want.

Hi, Daan. I hear two things in this video. 1) you are uncomfortable sharing your unfettered thoughts in therapy. This may be a communication misinterpretation. But if not, then why? Are you uncomfortable with your therapist? Do you need to change but are too shy, too repressed to ask? Therapy to me is your safe space to say anything, everything and not be judged. 2) l hear you feeling uncomfortable asking for your own well being. Only you know what is best for you and it is totally okay to ask. Room service is not coming to the house with a menu or silver platter : here is trans options A, B, C and D take your pick. Surgery is painful and uncomfortable. Do you choose muscle relaxers or traditional pain medications that have risks of addiction? When you are alone and in your own body are you close to feeling yourself or do you need more? If more, do you need a care giver, someone else you can trust and depend on or is that the issue? You are strong. You are vocal. You are worthwhile. You are a handsome man. ❤ Have courage

I very much wish you the best in life. The choice of to have bottom surgery or not is a deeply personal one. As a gay man who does not suffer with gender dysphoria I don't think I can advise apart from the very obvious of wanting everyone to be happy & healthy. Bottom surgery from what I understand is not only complex but comes with significant changes to long term health, although I know those changes for M to F are much greater with many more complex requirements but I believe phalloplasty still has complications for over 75% of people that have it. So all I can say is if you believe that your mental health will be impacted to the point that you can't live without that change then the choice is more obvious. But if not I would settle into the life you have already made. Time already throws enough rocks in our path that we can be forgiven for not always taking the hardest route.

Very good thought to share. I never thought about it until I found out my body wouldn't be able to handle what I would want done after top surgery & hysto. I would have wanted the whole kit and caboodle, but after going through top surgery alone, I know that would happen with lower surgery. Plus I'm 47, things are harder than they used to be for healing and such. I've lost some weight and have excess skin they could use for phallo, but I've just been stuck the same way, debating what I want to do and why. Thank you Daan, for sharing your thoughts and the scenery! Beautiful foggy morning ☺ Hello fly 🪰😁

Hi, I don't know what you're feeling, but having seen your videos, and now seen this, I think as a layman, but as a thinking person, that if in any situation, life puts us in front of two... or more... choices, and we find ourselves undecided about which path to take, I would wait, I would reflect on what more taking that path could bring me. Without feeling: obliged, motivated, judged... by anyone. Only you can know what is best for you now. Allow me now to ask about children, you have expressed that you don't want any...Well, are you currently in a relationship? I ask, because as a gay man, I would like at least one, my partner, but he is adamant. For this reason, I cannot throw away 28 years of shared life. But I ask you, if on the contrary, once found, a soul mate, who like me, wanted children? How would you proceed in that case? I'm asking because your opinion could give me a different vision, perhaps helpful. Ok I'm closing, it's 4 in the morning, and I'm going back to work tomorrow, after a month's absence. Happy Sunday and see you soon, I hope. A big hug, Angelo

If you decide to move forward with bottom surgery you're definitely going to need someone to help take care of you and things around your house until it's safe for you to move around. At the end of the day you have to feel confident and happy about your decision. If you aren't there, then it's probably not time to move forward.

Youre the one going through eith the surgeries and thr one that feels the pain. Take your time, if you want to wait on it then do.... dont put pressure or shame yourself for post poning the surgery. Maybe you may feel happy how you are right now and you might get it later. If youre indecisive now then just take youre time... be gentle with yourself. This is your journey❤, live it your way. I hope you have an Awesome day and journey.

The answer for me is very simple and is answered with another question: Would you have a penis if it was as simple as just take it, put it on, and that's it? No pain, no operation, no hassle. If it were that easy? Yes. I would. But it isn't. And you have to weigh up all the pros and cons. And the cons weigh a lot.

Daan, this is my first time seeing one of your episodes and it was very moving. You have obviously had a long and difficult journey to achieve this place in life. However, happy you are with your physical appearance, your emotional well being has perhaps not kept pace. Just as you want to be an expert level athlete but need to pace yourself, unfamiliar emotions and self love, self acceptance and self respect take time. Your shoulder sounds like a rotator cuff injury which is complicated, and the foot and ankle have many bones in them. So you need evaluation as to current injury before you know where to begin exercising them. There is nothing wrong with staying put and not creating further injury. Being a man does not make you invulnerable. Being bisexual means you love people : their minds and hearts, not their genitals alone. Being queer means you are intelligent. You see the world with unique eyes. You organize your environment to be very comfortable and functional and visually pleasing. You are a clever cook perhaps? Or not. Be fearless in finding your truest self and loving the person who emerges. Hug yourself. Love yourself as you are NOW. Be your best self ever. 😊❤❤

I just finished watching your video I believe it was one month ago. And you gave your height. I did not know until close to the end of the video that you had made it transition. iTunes and because you look like a nice person and I enjoyed what you were talking about. I guess that’s how we should do all people take them for who they are. Being American unless were in the sciences weekend that you measure in meters in centimeters but a long time ago I thought it was probably important to have a working knowledge as most of the world uses these measurements. Perhaps all of the Dutch are much taller but many men in the United States like myself are 58 or 59 I think the average height is now about 510. I am personally glad I have two working feet into working hands. Anyway I will follow your channel is very enjoyable. Now I’ll get back to watching the current video. Thank you

Dann As always a great video and thought provoking. Your vlog has made me think about the effects of HRT and how T affects your brain. For me, T hasn’t made me an Angry person but it has had an amazing benefit for my anxiety. Soon after starting HRT I was able to stop taking medication for Anxiety which I had suffered with for almost twenty years. However, I did find that HRT made me more impulsive and assertive. These two traits (impulsiveness and assertiveness) are more of a masculine characteristic and therefore I guess should be expected. HRT has had countless positive benefits which have made me a much happier person. Aggression and anger are also associated more with masculinity but I haven’t noticed any changes in myself. I wasn’t aggressive before HRT and don’t notice any changes with this. If anything I have become more calmer than before starting HRT. From what you have said it appears your level of anger is much the same as before you started HRT. Has HRT made you feel any changes to your anxiety? Take care and looking forward to your next vlog.

Your plants are looking very happy and well cared for! 🪴🌱🌿 I had anger issues as well, the only thing that stopped me was how expensive it got after a while to replace the things I would smash once I got older (mid 20-s to around 30 when I was living alone). T therapy helped me calm down, the opposite of what I was like before with my mood swings. I also have PCOS so I think that had something to do with my moods 🤷 I also realized my frustration would turn into aggression like a boiling teakettle. The thought hadn't crossed my mind that you would be a ball of aggression, you're too good at relaxing 🧘‍♂ Completely off topic observation, Dutch isn't based on Latin? The words you translate don't sound anything like what they would sound like in otherwise? Weird question I know, I was raised a curious person by a wonderful mom 😊 I love your jump-spider merch! I remember it on your plants earlier this year when you found one on your plant! 🕷 Is that where you got the idea? They are pretty cute, and they wave the fuzzy front legs to attract other spider mates 🤓 (I watch BBC a lot) I hope you have a wonderful time until next time you post, beware of those sneaky buckets! 🫣😁

Hi Daan, I used to have the same problem with anger as you describe. However, once I transitioned, started on estrogen and progesterone and had surgery things changed. I was also diagnosed autistic with ADHD. Like you I have spent years working with children with multiple disabilities which helped me recognize my own symptoms. This explained a lot about my difficulties in education, relationships and life. There is a significant overlap with neurodivergence and transpeople. I realized that my previous issues with self-destructive anger outbursts had been a form of autistic meltdowns.

I am also struggling with anger most of my life.... but I have learned to cope with it and catch it. I was concerned about Testosterone and my anger but it hasnt changed me like that at all. I've never wanted to punch a wall, I mainly throw things. But it can be a sign of ADHD, which I have. My testosterone level isnt high, but Im going to increase it because my voice hasnt changed very much. I am very mindful of kindness. I am watering my plants more. I have changed my picture and name, sorry lol.

Im a lot like you Daan and have just discovered I have ADHD. Getting overwhelmed and having ADHD paralysis happens when a person with ADHD is overwhelmed by information, emotions, or their environment. As a result, they freeze and can't think or function effectively. There's many symptoms related to ADHD for adults. Wow.. a Masters!!! It is hard to stick to a study schedule on your own. We have to have some discipline which I do not lol. 5k walk??? Wow... amazing. What age-group are you teaching Daan? At the school I work in measurement is part of the curriculum. We do mostly cooking or colour some rice and have them do that in rotation groups. These are preps and grade 1.
