So far I have only watched one of the contributions in its entirety, Ruben's. For me as a bookworm and amateur comparative linguist with no deeper knowledge of archiving, this presentation was very interesting, e.g. the notional definitions, the topic of different terminology, culture and semantics, and also the parts on Esperanto. It's great that there are videos like this on KZbin available!

Have you noticed that Ms Kirps was too set on professional issues & diversity, and failed to wish the women archivists, on the occasion on the International Women’s Day, such simple but critically important things as love, happiness, family, beauty and elegance, health, well-being? Female archivists are not robots, and President of ICA IMHO could benefit from some showing some emotions, empathy and femininity :)

Rev. Kibrom Tseggai from Ghana, practicing records manager. I see a lot deteriorating records so engendered to save them. The only one can address them is digitalizing them. However, one need technology quality for old file. Next, in photograph they are captured without caption almost 99%. How can I address these?

I would like to see a datamodel of the new standard, or an open-source program like AtoM has been to the old standards. This would make it more practical to implement. For now this standard is way to theoretical to put to practice. Also, i'm having troubles with Dates being seperate entitities from the actual entitities they help describe. Doesn't that make the model uncessesarily complicated? What's wrong with a start date / end date attribute? Also, how would the model be converted to conventional database programming languages like SQL, noSQL, etc?

Recently visited the museum with my son. Highly recommend. Such amazing work by the archive to preserve these records, provide access to victims while also protecting their privacy and all rights involved. Just curious, I was an American exchange student in Hamburg and Munich in the early 80s and assume I would not have a file since I was just a teenager, didn't live in Berlin, wasn't involved in anything political that I know of, only visited Berlin. Is there any way for people like me to run a simple check by our names or can we assume we would not have a file? It's conceivable one or two people I knew casually could even have had a file for all I know. Another weird question: Since there was such a saturation of Stasi eavesdropping in East and even West Berlin, and East and even West Germany, how many devices might actually remain?? Presumably not listened to anymore by anyone but it makes you wonder...

Les Archives constituent le socle du fonctionnement de toute administration.La CI gagnerait encore plus si chaque ministère assurait la bonne gestion de ses archives.Cela nécessite la construction d'un bâtiment des Archives Nationales capable de recevoir les différents fonds d'archives provenant de ces ministères.Donc l'Etat doit s'engager et prendre ses responsabilité en que détenteur de tout pouvoir administratif.Et c'est à la suite de cela qu'il pourra imposer aux autres institutions publiques ou privées de prendre en compte la gestion de leurs archives.
