I switched from Apoquel to Cytopoint and my dog got the most horrific bacterial skin infection I've ever seen. It was a literal nightmare. My dog was tearing his fur out. A year later and the infection keeps coming back now. I haven't even mentioned his terrible chronic ear infections. Brown discharge and green pus literally ooze ftom his ears. I filed a complaint about Cytopoint. It's been pulled from the U.S. market. Im so angry at Zoetis! 😡 My dog has never been the same 🤬

Love your pond. I set up two on my porch, and the fish are ready to go...but...it keeps storming. Are fish afraid during thunderstorms, and do they know to go low so they don't blow away?

I would LOVE for you to do a REDDIT AMA. I could pick your brain for days. The more I learn the more I realize just how much I don’t know. I’ve been koi keeping for a decade now and luckily I’ve made true friends in the international koi community tanks to membership in my local Koi Club. So I’ve had the ability to learn from and reach out for help, some of the best people around (I mean how many people can pick up the phone with a koi emergency on a Tuesday morning and have someone there as a friend with the knowledge, equipment, and ability to inject antibiotics into a sick koi while I’m frantically running around setting up quarantine tanks, moving fish, draining a pond and identifying parasites that I learned about in your writings. I’m a retired Army Non-Commissioned Officers and combat vet so even though I’ve had the ability to keep koi I’ve had huge and sometimes very costly and sad learning curves. I’ve never been in a position where I felt financially secure enough to spend tens of thousands of dollars to have the kinds of professionally built bottom drained ponds with filtration systems so complicated you’d need a degree to operate them… but, I think I’m about to. I moved to a tropical climate beautiful 3rd world country where my dollar went a lot further than it did at the time, but now that the dollar is as weak as I’ve ever seen it, I’m moving to back to the United States and building my ❝dream home❞ on a large homestead property I had inherited several years ago. I’m going to be using my VA home loan for the first time and when you do that and you own your own land and are going to build your home you have a lot of flexibility that you wouldn’t have if you were just buying an existing property. One of which is the ability to include things like major home appliances being rolled into the new construction loan. Well my new construction is going to have an indoor/outdoor koi pond built into it so the cost can be included in the home construction cost. It’s going to be my first and maybe only opportunity to do a pond as perfectly as possible. I know some builders, they are expensive but they are good and you probably know of most of them. But I’d still love to ask you questions. Because I’ve built several ponds for myself and family over the years and I’ve learned from my mistakes but just when I thought I had everything figured out and everything had been running smoothly for many years, the pond I built for my parents in an effort to get them to re-home my koi when I moved overseas, my mom lost some very big koi last winter and I still don’t know why. I was actually there visiting when the first one died and I did all the things I needed to do under the conditions and with the advice of my contacts but she went on to lose 2 more large koi after that. She want’s to replace them but I’m so afraid to introduce anything new into her healthy pond because of her lacking the knowledge (even though she has the equipment and ability) to quarantine, treat, and observe a new fish prior to introducing it into her pond (idk if any of this is making sense, I’d much rather have a back and fourth). Yeah, but anyway, please don’t stop making content because I’ve soaked up everything you’ve ever shared. I’ve personally purchased all of your books both digitally and physically for myself and gifted copies to others (btw I think that you would see a larger profit if you sold your books directly in addition to amazon if you write any new ones). So yeah, I guess just thanks.

Unfortunately I came across your video to late. My dog had to be put to sleep after receiving Apoquel. My vets are trying to tell me that he didn't die from lymphoma, but I have film showing the opposite. Thanks anyway for putting this video out there . Hopefully there are many owners that saw this video in time and saved their dogs. Cheers again.

our family dog was just put down yesterday. He was given this drug for a skin infection a long time ago. once he started growing tumors, he was taken off of it. even after being taken off, the tumors continued to grow until they filled up his lungs enough to make it too difficult to breathe. Fuck apoquel.

Oxyfresh is best made daily, in distilled water and needs to be the ONLY water the subject gets. It can be made 'double strength' for better results against active oral infections, lower than adequate saliva production, significant slime accumulation in the mouth. I've had *zero* negative feedback about Oxyfresh,

Or discard the whole bone. This video is from 2018 and here's a 2022 update: So far, after hundreds of injections, *zero* ill effect. No seizures. Which is surprising because among hundreds of dogs somebodies going to have a seizure anyway. But none. There have been 2-3 cases where it didn't work AT ALL. There have been half a dozen cases where it worked for 2-3 weeks only and is understandably too costly for such short-term control. 1 case where the dog never needed a second injection. The majority of cases need a shot every 4 to 6 weeks during peak allergy season. And some dogs need a shot once in Spring and once in Fall allergy seasons. Apoquel works better than Cytopoint but at a ginormous amount more risk. The cancer rate is higher in my practice on Apoquel than the global average of 10%. This product WILL NOT WORK in diseased skin so there's NO POINT using Cytopoint in skin which is actively infected, or infested. When you have a pink-skinned, pink-eyed itchy dog, without concurrent pyoderma, dry skin, fleas, fungus or mange, this Cytopoint is wonderful.

My pug was prescribed apoquel 3 weeks ago. My pug has a collapsing trachea, and other pug related issues, including horrible itching. She also had polyps removed from her trachea 6 years ago. A week after starting this drug, she’s been coughing, hacking, and struggling to catch her breath. I took her to the vet AS SOON as the cough started, for antibiotics. I asked them multiple times during this visit if it could be apoquel causing it from immune suppression. They assured me it wasn’t, and that it was fine. After a few days of antibiotics, she was feeling better, BUT THEN the cough came back with a vengeance. We rushed her to the vet again for a injectable antibiotic, cough suppressants, among other things. She was GREAT for another few days, until it came back again. The vet still assured me the apoquel couldn’t be causing anything, and shamed me for wanting to stop it, because I know my dog, and apoquel was the only thing that changed. I discontinued apoquel on my own, without vet approval, and after a bit, the cough went away near completely on its own. I don’t know if my pugs cough was caused by apoquel, but I firmly believe it caused this. Thank you so much for this video, you’ve confirmed to me that I’ve made the right choice, and I will be disposing of the 250$ bottle if apoquel I purchased.

Dr. Rik Johnson I live in Brazil, São Paulo city. I gave the pills to my York shire terrier every day. Veterinarian's recommendation. It was 4 years of medication. We found cancer in her bladder. She was operated on and we are following. We interrupt the apoquel. My dog's allergy is severe and Cytopoint has no effect. The current medication is cortisone. Cytopoint costs R $ 280.00. Very expensive.

The number of cases reported is pretty shocking. What’s ironic is the fifth side effect on the list is pruritus (itching) - the very thing the drug is supposed to stop! So what’s next? Enter the latest scary allergy drug, Apoquel. It also suppresses your dog’s immune system … but in a different way. So … is it safer?

I had one like that. TWO injections two weeks apart. Might as well have been water injections. I called the company, they scratched their heads. We never figured that out. The rest of the dogs have responded extremely well although variably, some dogs have needed shots every two weeks some every five weeks and two of the dogs did not require another shot!

Since I could comment on your latest video, thought I would come here to tell you how much I liked your title and what it made me think. No Bikini at all= No Bikini Atoll, since we blew the shit out of it and possibly f'd up the marine life forever! You gave a great sense of humor and are a wonderfully rare realist. I am from West Michigan and am a retired Registered Respiratory Therapist who does private duty ( keeping my friends/neighbors mother from going in a nursing home) and get totally what you are saying in your video! I get most people are not medically minded, but, dang! Even when you explain to people what they need to do to help themselves or others, it goes into their brains and get diluted with all the useless information being stored there. Lol! Sad really! Thanks for sharing your thoughts and expertise, it's appreciated here!
