Excellent demo of this fine looking little extractor. I've got a honking great triple motor Hyundai extractor. Not unhappy with, but can't really use it to maximum capacity with the table or mitre saw. I've been using an excellent little cordless Parkside extractor for everything else, but for sanding, the runtime just isn't sufficient. I've seen all the hype surrounding the Festool midi, but would find it hard to stick 600 quid under the mitre station on a permanent basis. The Evolution is on offer at the moment for 70 pounds from Toolstation, so it is on the shortlist. One question though. Can you get dust bags for the Evolution? I can for the parkside and it makes a huge difference. Anyhow, thanks from the banks of the Clyde for taking the time to share your experience.

Love it. What dimensions are the shed? Inside and outside?
@TiniestWorkshed4 ай бұрын
Thanks! In brief, it's a 4x12 ft (122 x 366cm) shed on the outside. Internal dimensions in terms of floor area (excluding the framing) are about 111cm wide by 357cm long (3.6 x 11.7 ft). The framing is 4cm deep inside, and I use that space for all sorts of things. The main entry door at the end is 79cm wide, and the double doors (the white wall behind my workbench) are 97cm wide in total. Ceiling height runs from 180-191cm.

did you ever think about discussing how to install a trim router into the lift other than the ritual of opening a box and explaining what's inside. I mean, that's the purpose of purchasing the lift in the first place, right? Not a single KZbin video comes close to explaining router installation...except for the one in Italian. And my Italian is lacking.

This is a manual lift with a crank handle to raise and lower! That’s enough for me, but it’d be a fascinating project to see if it can be adapted for motorised use.

The lift is designed for palm routers only and is supplied in either 65mm or 69mm diameter. I know the 69mm fits the Dewalt palm router, because that's what I use, and the 65mm is suitable for the Makita palm router.

Often times the simplest solutions tend to be the best. What mic are you using? I've looked at a few similar models and always wondered how they sound but in your environment, it's perfect. With the exception of when you turn your head away from the mic, it's a very nice sound without any background echo or noise.

Have been using one of these for about two years now it’s been great. I only bought it as temporary solution but haven’t upgraded yet. I improved it by using it with a cyclone separator. Then found the stock hose can come off and 50mm transparent flexible hose (I found on Amazon) push fits straight in, if you ever think of going that route. Really improved the suction through the cyclone 👍🏻
@TiniestWorkshed7 ай бұрын
Excellent tips. Was already having a think about a separator. And maybe some ductwork up in the ceiling somehow!

@@TiniestWorkshed My workshop is about the same size but nowhere near as organised as yours. We had a Vax vacuum that wasn't being used so our son set that up on a small trolley/sled - I can use it in the workshop or take it outside. Having said that, it's a bit of a pain to move around so I've been looking at this Evo vac. It's portability looks great as is that power take off set-up and I'm sure the wet/dry and blower options will be handy too.

why do it on in the inside? lol use a door stopper, or a piece of rope tied to the outside of the gate to the fence or something
@TiniestWorkshed7 ай бұрын
The problem with a door stopper is that the shed door drops down to concrete, and I don’t want to drill a fixed stop into it. The fence is only on the far side, so a rope to there would stop it closing, but not from opening further (which is how damage would happen)!
@proevilz7 ай бұрын

Dang, the price! Even in the US. I may be upgrading my router table in the near future. Adding a router table to the wing of my table saw was the best addition to my little shop. It may seem redundant to have a second tool that can do many of the things you can do on a table saw, but having the option is invaluable. The two tools may do the same thing but they do it differently and that's what makes having the option so great. New subscriber. Can't wait to check out more of your videos.
@TiniestWorkshed7 ай бұрын
Thank you! That’s what I’m finding too. Especially in a small space, anything that reduces the friction in starting a project - or making a cut in the best way - is a worthwhile addition. Also, the fun of making the tool or jig in the first place.
