The airs look easy. My Mac book pro 15” was a huge hassell and I ended up just having a shop do it. The Mac book air by comparison is fast and easy typically.

Yes, I heard in general the Airs are easier than the Pros. I guess it’s because the Pros are usually more complex/dense with more battery cells and other components. Thanks for watching!

It’s been solid, still lasts a full day of light usage which is all I need from it. Haven’t noticed any degradation yet either, charges like normal. I would recommend, plus if there are any issues it’s covered by iFixit’s warranty and I trust them more any Amazon or eBay seller. Edited to fix grammatical error

I had one for the iPad Pro M4, I returned it for a full refund from the retailer I purchased it from after seven months of light to moderate usage. Nothings changed. Still the same crap quality. The only redeeming feature is the keyboard.

Soo disappointed to hear that, same issues multiple generations in with no signs of intention to remedy the problem. Even more so since it is one of the best options out there keyboard and trackpad wise, glad to hear you were able to get a refund at least.

The esr keyboard is pretty bad. The trackpad lags and glitches everytime every 2 mins or when you press a key (it might be because it uses bluetooth and not the smart connector), and its very heavy. I think the magic keyboard is the only good keyboard for the ipad at this point but i refuse to pay $300 for a tablet keyboard. I feel like apple planned this so people get convinced to buy the Magic keyboard or something because no other keyboard can use the smart connector except Logitech and the issues with the Logitech combo touch just feel like planned obsolesce. I guess im not using any keyboard then

Damn, kinda disappointed to hear that cause I was considering picking one up. I guess I'll stick to the used Smart Keyboard Folio I got off marketplace for cheap until a good alternative appears. I do wish Apple would refresh their iPad keyboard only cases, imagine how thin a new Smart Keyboard Folio and M4 iPad Pro combo could be. Sad Apple insists that the iPad needs a track pad after 10+ years of touch first interface optimisation.

Gaming on the bigger screen is nice, I mostly do it when I need keyboard and mouse input. Unfortunately its not strong enough to game at 4K (mabe only in the most basic games), you'll mostly be playing at 1080p. However for everything else (youtube, emails, typing up documents, excel etc) it is 4K capable, movie night with it hooked up to the TV are smooth sailing.

Yes I’ve heard the same about esr, that built in battery enables Bluetooth but also adds weight to the keyboard part. Though if you are worried about how heavy it will be while holding just the iPad without the keyboard it’s prolly the same as the Logitech one with keyboard detached, so you’d only maybe feel the little bit of extra weight in your bag, not while holding the iPad without your hands if that makes sense.

Same problem but took almost 2 years no warranty that I could use, and the rubber expanded way worst after heating it. Wouldn’t be nice someone with a 3D printer and know how could create a replacement for the rubber parts.

Good thing I didn’t try heating it then, but yeah I think a more sturdy frame would be the best solution instead of using thin strips of pliable rubber for the speaker cutouts.

I have same problem as yours though it's not as bad as yours. This is the second time I get disappointed by Logitech's keyboard products. The first one is Logitech G613. Such disappointment.

This is a prime example of planned obsolescence and I seriously consider that Logitech should be taken to responsibility for this. I've used many of their products over the years and most of them were exeptional and worked flawlessly for years. Now everything produced by them seems like a cheap joke and I'm never gonna buy antyhing from that brand again.

Yeah, they used to put out new and improved products all the time. Now it seems they’re happy to sell the same MX Master for a 4th yeah with some tweaks and keep the price up, make a Mac variant that’s white instead of just making one that’s Multiplatform.

I bought a 10th gen combo touch and instantly see the corner of mine having exposed metal, I don’t want to deal with warping down the road and will return it tomorrow and try the ESR IPad keyboard to see how it goes.

if you connect the ps5 wired instead of wireless you performance will jump quite a lot... you can use the same system you are using from the nbn modem on the wall to your router with the power line extender

I only have the deck and a controller, but I also need a drawing tablet. Would you recommend getting a larger tablet, wireless keyboard instead of a monitor?

You could but I don’t believe android tablets and iPads can be used as monitors for the Steamdeck. Wacoms tablets with screens might work but they’re very pricey and designed to be used as a monitor

I have been using remote play for years and many different devices and even with a wired internet connection I’ll have connection issues and dropouts. The steam deck however seriously works so well with chiaki. I haven’t had a single connection dropout. Screen quality isn’t perfect, but my god it functions better than anything I’ve ever used. Highly recommend :)

I KNOW RIGHT, not sure what this developer is doing that Sony can’t but I’m all for it. The Remote play iOS app is a slow tedious mess and it’s ridiculous that remote play isn’t built into the PS App.

I can’t speak for everyone but usually by 1 year you can begin to see the issue, it’ll be slight but noticeable. Then by 2 years it’ll progress to something like mine, I’d avoid the product altogether if possible.

I’ve got the Air 4 which is identical externally to the Air 5, from what I’ve seen Logitech latest revisions to the Combo Touch bring new features but do nothing to address the durability issues. Personally, I wouldn’t risk it.

I also have the rubber issues, and it’s really doing my head in! It’s not aesthetically pleasing. They could’ve tried to have it attack with magnets without the rubber edges like the apple magic folio keyboard. I have the iPad Pro 12’9 from 2022, so I wouldn’t be able to buy the magic folio with the kickstand version. A kickstand case is my go to, as it’s so flexible and doesn’t take up much space on my desk.

Yep it sucks, even worse is that they advertise the wrap around design as a feature that makes it more rugged. Rugged would be protecting the device and the case itself, this is kamikaze. At least now the market has matured to the point where there are other options. The Magic Folio Keyboard is beautiful but it wouldn’t work on iPad Air and Pro without a redesign due to the Smart Connector being in a different location. I’d love to see Apple’s take on a Smart Keyboard Folio Gen 2 with trackpad, something that doesn’t force me to remove the iPad from the keyboard to use on its own.

There are a bunch of tutorials online on how to get it up and running but the main one is enabling Epic Online Services (EOS), this is for the Heroic games launcher btw.

Haha no, it’s actually my old phone. I needed something to use for demonstration since I use my current phone for filming, I do still love it tho. iPhone 4 probably has my favourite design, current generation is close but it’s not the same.

Totally agree. I cut out all the rubber, got a coverbuddy and aligned the pins (i think i posted it somewhere), it provided side protection and a way to still use the smart connector. It worked for a while but the keyboard loses functionality more often now. Had high hopes for this case as well. So disappointed

That’s actually quite clever, shame it didn’t work out. Good luck finding something that works, I’ve jumped ship to a used Smart Keyboard Folio but if you need a trackpad ESR looks alright.

I just bought a Combo Touch, even brand new I have experienced a few times where the trackpad just stops working for a minute, then it comes back. I really with I could find some answers to why this is happening.

I stop buying Logitech keyboard case for iPad Pro. Had 2 and had the same problems, starting from 2015 12.9 inch iPad Pro. The other one is for my iPad Pro 2018. Skipped it for my iPad Pro M2 and I skipped it again for my iPad Pro M4.

Smart, if they’re not going to address a known issue or at least compensate their paying customers properly when their product fails, they don’t deserve your money. At least it’s not like it was 4-6 years ago and we have other third party alternatives, just a shame they squandered the advantage they had being the only ones allowed to use the Smart Connector.

mine got warpy after a year 🫠 I tried using washy tape just to make it look cuter but I hated it. the heat gun doesn’t work I tried it for months

Actually, almost all detachable keyboards I have used in the past have had the same problems. For example, I had to replace my MS Surface Alcantara keyboard twice in two years. My father used a Magic Keyboard, but the leather on the sides deteriorated after two years, and the three-pin connection had many issues. Learning from these experiences, I now buy a very cheap keyboard from Nillkin for just $63. The materials are not premium and feel cheap, but for the price, I can replace it every year without spending much money. Just buy a cheap detachable keyboard because there are no durable detachable keyboards out there.

Man what a pain, not sure why companies can’t figure how to make something that lasts/aren’t willing to. I’ve considered getting an elcheapo keyboard case but I don’t know if I can go back to a crappy typing and trackpad experience. Maybe I’ll just get a nice case and a slim bluetooth keyboard 🤔

@@salocin9009 That's the best solution for you because you mainly use it on a desk, as you explained in the video. But for someone like me, who works in media, I use my keyboard in many strange places and occasions 😂 I agree with your opinion that the device company doesn't want to make something durable. Perhaps, they don't want their laptop products to be overshadowed by tablets. Even cheap mechanical keyboard companies can make something durable and long-lasting.

That’s true, I’d say it is worth owning both if it makes sense financially so you get the best of both worlds. If not pick whatever offers what you want, though if it’s the Switch I’d say hold off since the successor is coming soon or save money by going used.

Sounds like you’re describing the Hori Split Pad Pro and it does look very comfortable to hold. Unfortunately no wireless, rumble and motion controls is a dealbreaker for me though.

I own a PS portal and considering a steamdeck oled. Do you think SD performance and quality wise is better than the PS portal? Can you do a side by side comparison? Appreciate it

I would say it is better in every way since the Deck can actually play games rather than needing to stream, has a better screen and in terms of performance it’s no contest. The Deck uses a processor capable of running almost all PC games while the Portal uses a midrange android processor. Unfortunately I don’t own both so I won’t be able to compare them in person, hope you are happy with whatever decision you end up going with.

I definitely will, looking forward to seeing what Nintendo has been cooking in terms of the new console and its launch games. Still weird to think it’ll be out by mid next year.
