Quick tip about playing the Deck on TV or monitor. You need to go into the game's properties and then General. From there you then change the resolution from Default to Native so you can play games in whatever resolution the display supports. It's a bit cumbersome but that's how you do it. I wish it did it automatically though

Ngl, i feel like someone should buy both. They both have good quality’s in their own ways and i feel like you couldn’t miss out on what both have to offer
@salocin90097 ай бұрын
That’s true, I’d say it is worth owning both if it makes sense financially so you get the best of both worlds. If not pick whatever offers what you want, though if it’s the Switch I’d say hold off since the successor is coming soon or save money by going used.

This isnt really a fair comparison. Computers nowadays can do what Nintendon't. That being said, I simply prefer a Switch for being its own thing instead of using power as its only weapon
@salocin90097 ай бұрын
Totally understand, like I said the Switch has its place and its advantages over the Deck. I tried to focus purely on gaming for this comparison and in that sense the Steam Deck has more going for it than just more power. I agree Nintendo should do their own thing, I just hope that they can also learn from the market and add things people actually want like Discord integration/better coms, fix their terrible joysticks and bump the specs at least enough to run their first party games smoothly (looking at Tears of the Kingdom). I’m looking forward to seeing what they’ve got in store for next gen, but until then I’ll continue to enjoy my Switch (a longer generation just means I got a better value out of it haha).
@smallego80687 ай бұрын
Power is the Steam Deck's only weapon? The steam deck is way more versatile. The only weapon Nintendo has are their own characters. Without them, Nintendo would be nothing. Plus, you can emulate the Switch on the Steam Deck as far as I know.

Honestly, the Switch has a right to exist, first party titles are mostly/almost always a great experience on it, it's just not nice to see that nintendo is quite similar to apple with everything being locked down and not giving the user a lot of control, some games really struggle on the switch, it was outdated at its release already and the fact it isn't really getting much cheaper (e.g. used switch lites being about 150€ in my area) it's a little hard to see the actual value for money, I think it would perform better if nintendo gave the option to at least raise the performance a little (as it underclocks the hardware on a stock unmodified system), when theres actual previous gen consoles (Xbox One S and PS4 as example) sold for around 80€ used already that can handle quite some games better its as said hard to see value for money. The switch really only shines with most of its first party titles and indie games, often ports of modern games done to the switch really dont look or perform well, which is partially the devices fault but some games prove that games can look good AND run well on the switch. Some games you also dont want to play in handheld mode because they just dont look nice at all due to limitations. To me the switch is not a bad console, I play on a switch lite only mainly for portability and also cause I didnt have the money for an actual dock-compatible model, it's just that the switch has a huge lot of more potential, which was mostly a common trend especially with more recent nintendo consoles/handhelds. Nintendo could be doing a much better job and people would maybe then much rather use a switch or like nintendo as a company, while not really hating them, I am not really much a fan of them honestly. The switch sadly isnt as portable as past handhelds like a ds you could just throw into a backpack and pick up whenever you want but I like the portability of the switch lite, I sadly dont have many games for it but with its size it can be a nice device to play games on when you're out, I honestly often have a better experience playing on a tablet I bought for around 60€ 2 years ago because of its better screen and running android, its just not fun to carry an extra controller around so on the go it is the switch lite for me mostly, I don't regret the purchase but with that money you have to spend, better things should be possible. Also, about joycons, they don't feel too well but theyre fine, the vibration and sound used by some games arent great and the drift sucks and I am unsure if they're worth the price but they're undeniably a great concept which helps the dockable switch models in its uniqueness. I myself never used a steamdeck so I can't give an opinion, I just know that a steam deck oled is about as good performance wise as my PC-Setup, not too strong but gaming capable for the very most stuff, a friend uses it and it looks pretty good and seems to be a neat device, just not as portable. I am sorry if I hurt anyone's feeling or provided some false info but this is my view on things (my opinion) which you can relate to or not, feel free to reply tho to discuss stuff, thats what the comments are here for after all. Now sorry for the rant, your video was awesome, the structure was nice, you showed facts and mentioned what you don't like about each device but still mentioned the good sides and what each device is usable for instead of portraying one as the bad and "shall never be used", I hope that your channel grows cause at least this video was comfortable to watch and well made, I also quite like the transitions, keep up the work dude!
@salocin90097 ай бұрын
Wow! Had to break out the keyboard for this one, thanks for watching all the way to the end. Gotta say I do agree with most of your points, Nintendo has become quiet stubborn like Apple in that they never admit to wrong doing (mainly referencing their stance on joy con drift, they only offer free repairs in a few countries and deny its a real problem) as well as their approach to recent game releases. Especially their sports games, they keep trying to release a half finished game and add in content after the fact, and it keeps failing but they keep doing it. And their mediocre online service. Yes the Switch is not a bad console, it’s just badly priced. I laugh whenever I see it in store selling for its original launch price. And the audacity to charge more for basic upgrades like a better screen and 64GB of storage in the OLED model instead of having it replace the OG Switch and drop its price as well as the Lite. They are definitely raking in the money rn. In terms of the size, its never really bothered me. My phone is in one pocket and my AirPods/keys in the other so even if it was DS sized I’d still toss it in the bag. Joycons are great but like you said some games implement vibration really poorly, fornite for example, every time you shoot they go off at max strength and make this awful rattling buzzing noise. Appreciate the positive feedback on the production, I’m trying new things (like the transitions) and am pretty pleased with how this one turned out.
