@@miaandersen8731 and the water?
@miaandersen873111 күн бұрын
It’s only wet for a short time and it says to dry it. It’s not things being submerged that causes rust, it’s humidity. When water and air mix. Leaving gunk on your laser would likely be worse, as dust attracts humidity from the air and that will be slightly acidic (this is how old paper turns yellow on the edges of books).

Ok I'm new to this. 1- mine is backwards/inverted. How do I flip it around? 2- I line my object up under the frame but then it marks to the left of where it said it was. How do I fix that? (Using a Monport GP50 fiber laser)
@lightburnsoftware71896 күн бұрын
Backwards/inverted is usually an issue with the origin setting. Regarding the object being under frame and not the engrave it sounds like the red dot needs to be aligned. I have a problem with importing a image. For some reason, the file created makes the laser pick up cutting speed and slow down during the cut. I thought something was wrong with my settings, so I checked. They were fine. So I ran another file, and it worked fine. I tried tracing the image again, and it still did the same thing.Am I not configuring it enough to run properly? It seems to insert a ghost in the machine.
@lightburnsoftware718913 күн бұрын
Please email [email protected] and send the LightBurn project file you’re working with along with information about what laser you have. You can’t post images or files here in KZbin comments, which makes it extremely hard for us to help you here.
@skitzville454612 күн бұрын
Apparently, there is so something going on when using a certain image when copied from online. I can copy, paste, and trace in XTool Creative Space just fine and burn and cut with no problem. Lightburn may be picking up some type of code within the image. And somehow is being read as a command by Lightburn. Other people with the same problem solved it by exporting their project as an svg file and then running on XCS. I'm not going to repeat the problem for a ticket as the problem is very violent at times and slams the diode around to the edges off the laser bed at high speeds. So, use caution.

I followed the instructions to find focus length as well as the calibration steps for a new lens. Is there away to adjust the focus beams? When I had my 290 lens, all the beams met in the middle when focused. Now with the new lens all the beams are spread apart. Is this able to be adjusted or will I need to manually find focus with a ruler each time? Thanks!

Thank you so much for this video. I got a new laptop and installed Lightburn, and suddenly, my laser would not even cut 2mm basswood. Came across this video, and discovered that it was the S Value causing the issue. A link to this video should come standard with every laser engraver.

This was so useful. Thank you so much. I was convinced my laser had to be replaced as suddenly it was not cutting what was easy before. The S value was the culprit which I am not sure why suddenly wasn't matching the machine's value. How do I ensure all the correct settings are set? This sort of thing had happened before with certain parameters were not correct. How do you ensure everything is optimally set up to get the best from your machine?
@lightburnsoftware718920 күн бұрын
Glad to hear you where able to figure out what the issue was. Unless there was a firmware update that could have changed the value on the machine there shouldn't be anything that would switch it without manually editing it in LightBurn. Some manufacturers have a reset option in the firmware but if things are working as expected now I really wouldnt recommend poking around the firmware more than necessary.
@Hat_Uncle21 күн бұрын
hmmm, I would have to wonder, take an image and place it horizontally, greyscale dither it. Now take that same image and rotate it 90 degrees, move the once burned image in machine and rotate it 90 degrees also, match them up in alignment, would burning it that way create a better image due to the power dithered cross hatching? /EDIT oh, the software can do that, sort of with the scan angles... interesting. Will have to try both and see the difference, if any.

Is there a way to scale power based on speed? It seems like this should be just the default but from what I've read, there's a threshold where the power jumps from max to min once it gets below that set speed (not clear on what that setting is, however, as I've tried to change things and I can't)... So instead of it being either min or max, it could be a scale so that as the laser slows down toward a corner, for instance, it will also reduce the power proportionately, not just after it hits the set speed for switching to min? I hope this question makes sense. Thanks.

I have done the lens correction. it seem the further away from the center, the further off the red light and artwork becomes off.
