A suggestion would be to add a switch to the software that will switch the Fire button between toggle and momentary. This way you can either click to turn on, then click to turn off, or set it to momentary to just give the button a tap to make a quick laser burst

Any laser or inkjet printable sticker sheets are not vinyl. If you can tear it like paper and can't stretch it, it is not vinyl.

Hello teacher, first of all, thank you for the video lesson. I don't know if it was the objective of your class, but I didn't understand correctly, in this process, how to use "Printing and Cut" on a sheet (or any other material) twice its size. I say this because I saw that you made the two cross marks, only on one sheet. But, I want to cut a design that covers an area larger than the footprint of my laser, so how would I lay this out across two sheets? I believe you understood my question. Thanks.

@lightburnsoftware718910 ай бұрын
The laser fire button has not been removed, but as stated in the video it's only for diode lasers. Do you have a CO2 laser? If so you'd need to use the red-dot (if you have an accurate one), or use the Pulse button on the laser control panel.

I don't believe we have specific plans to do a video on the Falcon 2. What sort of issues are you having with calibration? For repeat jobs creating a simple jig really helps with aligning pieces. This is something I have put down as a video suggestion.
@JamesBiggar Жыл бұрын
Use a fixture for your workpiece. Clamp, bolt, screw (whatever) something small to your work platform to form a 90° angle (assuming your work piece has a 90°corner) that will serve as a stop for placing your workpiece against in the same location each time. If you have the room and you're patient enough during initial setup, then you could prep multiple stop blocks on your platform to engrave multiple pieces in one batch and you'll be able to prep the next batch for processing in seconds. A bit more work during setup will pay off in the long run.

I have tried this so many times and it always comes out the same. I am using a Creality Falcon 10 Watt laser. Each time I try to set the first target position a red circle appears around the entire page. I have tried various methods of setting the first target position Including using the set target position icon on the left hand side of the Lightburn workspace. Each time the results are the same with the red circle appearing around the entire page after I click on the set first target position button. By the way, my creality Falcon 10 Watt laser does have limit switches. Any ideas? Have you seen this before? Thank you.

So after the second dot in the wizard is set if I home the laser or move the head manually alignment will be off? Print and cut is applying a per job offset to Home position correct?
@lightburnsoftware7189 Жыл бұрын
If you are homing the laser using the home button it should not be an issue since it is a repeatable location. Is there a reason you would be homing after setting your points? Manually moving the head will mess up the alignment. Since a manual move (by hand without using jog arrows) gives the machine and LightBurn no way of knowing its position or that it was moved. Print and cut does not have an affect on home position. It is finding the exact location of a design in LightBurn in relation to its placement physically on the laser.

As far as I know the D1 doesnt have additional ports on the controller to add limit switches. It may be worth reaching out to the manufacturer to see if there is an upgrade path. The D1 Pro does have switches so it is possible they offer something.

The Print ant Cut tool can be used on any material your laser can process. You would just need a way to print directly on MDF.

What kind of sticky paper do you use? As I understood it, if it is PVC it is not recommended because of the gases it generates at the time of cutting, it turns out to be corrosive to the machine and the smoke it generates is also carcinogenic.

ATTENTION: This example uses sticker paper. Please be aware that if you are using a CO2 laser you need to be aware that some sticker paper is made from PVC materials can and probably will release toxic Chlorine gas and should be avoided. Always check the material you are cutting to make sure it is not made from PVC.

Thank you - 90% of what I needed. My issue is now exposed as I have a mix of a Photo image and Boarder Graphics and Cut lines. Have developed a work around but a tad messy. Borders Atwork and cutlines were as per the process you linked to , but had to use the Mask option to split the graphics. Then do some extra work to put in Targets and re position every thing into two separate files that align correctly. Do part 1 and the Cut and Print process for part 2. A process some appear to refer to as a PASS Through for when a job is bigger than your bed. I am a Newbie when it comes to graphics and layers and nodes etc. So much to grasp and only a few years of old brain cells left, and getting less every day.
