It's so painful watching so many underground and unlistened songs become popular on tiktok and having to stop listening so I don't seem like a sheep 'following the crowds'

Escapism is one of the best songs I have heard in a while, and if her other songs are even half as good as it, im excited to explore more of her music.

If you heard my voice and story then that would make you understand when you struggle as an artist don’t succeed no one knows you and you lose your mother and all your dreams die

Idk I always liked his music but after he said he, as a black man, can’t date other black men, i kind of saw what kind of person he was. Im sure with the bad habit song and tik tok he deals with some frustrations as an artist but throwing a fans phone to the ground was CRAZY. TOTALLY uncalled for and inexcusable behavior. Idk why so many people are defending him.

I'd say visibility is definitely necessary. There's music I wouldn't have listened to if it weren't for the video. It's like the early days of MTV.

Love her success story but please don't promote TikTok. Besides being a China spying app, there many harmful effects of TikTok too

I wouldn't say Tik Tok ruined him but more like he got overshadowed by the Ariana Grandes and the Cardi Bs of his generation....Every artist is so you either love or you dont.

she's in Minneapolis on Wednesday night (10/25/23) at First Avenue, however I'm going to see The Dear Hunter, a massive favorite of mine, the same evening in St.Paul at The Amsterdam. If I get a chance, I may have to bring her up to The Dear Hunter guys.

i found out about steve lacy through bad habit and the first thing i did was go through his discography because i loved the nostalgic feel of the melody. i hope steve gets enough peace to be able to see that his fame reached a whole bunch of fans like me that are actually here for his art and i hope the world realises hes not some one time overrated copy and paste artist

I’m seeing Raye in Sydney next year and I’m soo exited! I discovered Raye when I first heard her in You don’t know me in 2020 and was in love. She has been a huge inspiration for me and become my favourite artists. Euphoric sad songs was amazing. I’m really happy she’s found major success and I can’t wait for January!!!

bullshit, this will happen only during his viral moment so, he will have a shitty audience for some time, who doesn't really care about him, but after this he will be a millionaire and will spent the rest of his career playing for his real audience with the money he made from the dumbass before in his bank account win-win situation

thank you so much for this video (i know i’m late). tik tok has absolutely ruined the music industry especially more alternative artists. lacey has now become a prop for rich suburban kid’s street cred rather than actually enjoying the music. the music industry is already hard enough to get into, so aspiring artists will now have to hope to make a song which will have a section that goes viral on tik tok, in the hope that the braindead masses on the app cling to it to make any sort of success

Tiktok always ruins people :(( Remember Eden Project?? he change one of his songs to "Catching Feelings" cause stupid tiktokers keeps calling it that, I hate that they found our secret artist. Now hes doomed to be remembered to the catching feelings tiktok videos cringe

In past decades it was very common to people only know the songs that played in the radio , sometimes the artist would have only 1 hit and would tour the world and sell out arenas , and all people wanted was to hear that hit … there’s nothing new about this

Not true dude..we used to buy albums and listen to them…the artist had one hit but we knew their songs because we bought their albums, cassettes, and CDs…therefore, we knew the artists complete catalogue not just songs on the radio. Gen Xer here…
