Why is it that the only ones able to afford these expensive instruments are the same ones who cannot pronounce Robert A Moog's surname correctly to save their lives? it is pronounced ""Moog" as in "Vogue" with a long "Oh" sound, not as in "Moon".

Weird that he would start off the comparison by having the synths on two different octaves.

I prefer the D’s oscillators, and the Voyager’s filter sweep focus … 🤦🏻♂️ Overall though, the D wins … the heft of the oscillators, and that lead tone … Think I prefer the Matriarch’s tone, over the Voyager, for those ‘softer’ tones … Seems it’s a lot like plugging a guitar straight into an amp … the less crap in between, the better - in terms of raw, powerful tone …

Super helpful, thanks! One addition - there is an "Osc Start" option in the upper right. Setting it to "Soft" will get rid of the slight click at each note onset.

Great demonstration, thank you. I was fortunate enough to get a Mini Moog reissue around 2010. All the analog parts / guts, etc of the original with an added midi out. So excellent. It has such bite. Was looking to add a polyphonic with a sequencer - any ideas? That Voyager resonance sounded very nice - more pronouced especially at 80%

Dammm. Way too fast. Is good I can enlarge my screen. I had to repeat over n over to see what the heck u were clicking. Btw this sounds like one of the midi effects in Logic I use a lot.

Fantastic video! Thanks! How in the world did you manage to get that sort of ring modulator like sound at 8m00s ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/bpS3i6JmprqfgZo ) ?

This is so good but no-longer supported as the company is no-longer operating. But for me this will remain as I will always keep a PC (preferable Mac) running an older os just for this.

Sine, sync and noise. Low pass, drive, short decay with no sustain. Increase the release, and use envelope 2 to have the pitch tail down. Tweak until realism sets in.

Massive thanks for having made by far the best granular synth out there! I am sure that you have a good reason to not keep up the support, but if there is any chance you could update it to work on Big Sur then I for one would be happy to buy it again. Incidentally I am a music tech lecturer and am writing a book about Music Tech in Live Performance and would love to use the Mangle as the gold standard, but as it no longer works (a 64bit issue?) I cannot. Please let me know if you get back into it - I am sure there is a vast legion of Mangle fans who would get behind a kickstarter / patreon.

I just can confirm what others already said: The Mangle sounds so cool, is powerful, creative, fun to use, and so incredibly nice priced, that I purchased it a few days ago - regardless of the fact, that it obviously wasn't developed any further for years. What a pity. It was so ahead of its time and could have become the de facto standard of granular synthesis in software. If only the author would recognize this and reactivate development...

Hello! Its 2021 now and we all really hope you can find some spare time to keep working on this killer software! Granular synthesis is more popular now than ever and your software is on many "best of" lists. So, you know, congrats and keep it up! :)

The Model D does have grittier sounding oscillators, with more high frequency content. The Voyager has tons of modulation features that the Model D doesn't have. The only logical conclusion is to have both, they really would complement each other perfectly.

Why can't anyone make synths organic and alive sounding today? Even a cheap Korg Poly 800 sounds better than modern synths. Why?

The Model D is brighter, and seems more aggressive. The Voyager has really nice modulation possibilities. I guess I need them both!
