“Painted on a blank spot on their wings.” - Aw sweet, a in-universe explanation for spell slots! :D “Black market for Ro wings used as spell scrolls.” - Oh yeah, that too… :,)

You're actually not far off! It's also an in-universe explanation for preparing spells!

So since mosquitos are usually nectar-feeders (except females during breeding season), would this be similar to breeding dairy cows?

Interesting. Regular slaver ants kidnap the babies of neighboring colonies in order to replenish their numbers. But I guess the Eirg don’t do that, instead working a conquered mountain’s populace to extinction before moving on to the next kingdom?

Ooh, fire ants using venom gifted by a fire demon? Love it! Also, what about wasp “venom” that can mind-control their victims? (famously demonstrated by a parasitic wasp that stings their favored prey of cockroaches, then guides the now-zombified victim to a secluded chamber where it’ll feed a baby wasp with fresh meat)

Insects are limited in size because of their respiratory system and chitin exoskeletons, if they can evolve larger size, intelligence, hands and feet why can they not evolve pseudo lungs in their abdomens in a similar way that a fish's gas bladder evolved?

"scientifically informed fantasy" to me didnt sound at all like what you define it as, its way too broad of a term for what you define it as. while what youre doing is technically just that, still you could have been a little more specific with the naming, as you have been very niche with the description. what i imagine under "scientifically informed fantasy" is like reverse engineering the biology and evolution of vampires to explain using science why they cant bear sunlight (weak cell walls that dont stop UV radiation in the slightest, or transparent skin that also has the side effect of their paleness) or why they hate crosses (unique cone cell structures inside their eyes getting confused from right angles) and things like that

13:40 Look into the science behind the reason why Moths and stuff get attached to lights like that. Apparently from what I've heard, it happens because they have an organ on their back or something, that actually orients them so that the light is above the back. It's like in nature, the sun would be above them, and it orients them. I don't know if that's helpful or what, but look into it, it's cool

@astick5249Ай бұрын
13:48 Fun fact, moths and many nocturnal insects having this seeming attraction for light is not actually a result of choice. Insects have a self righting reflex that positions their back up towards the light of the sky, normally coming from the moon and stars, but with an artificial light now right next to them, they struggle to escape essentially an orbit caused by their reflex constantly facing their backside to the lamp in circles.
