Has anyone tried restoring the first half yet? Because this is such a sensationally good performance.

Lyrics: I get jealous, not gonna lie. I save face, draw the line, And keep my sense of humor. Chinese cat, you end up... right in front. Lucky yellow bastard. Where'd you hide all the gold? I've searched for years. And when you bring yourself to tears, Teenage fantasy, teenage life in the TV dreams, All Americans have left you! What are you gonna do? What the fuck's up with the gun in your apartment? Temptation, Keep your sense of humor. Now it's gone-the director must pay the price. He's dead and dude's set got shot to shit. 1986 revisited. Where'd you hide all the gold? I've searched for years. And when you bring yourself to tears, Teenage fantasy, teenage life in the TV dreams. All Americans have left you! what are you gonna do? Oh baby, you know I'm just joshing! When you talk that crazy talk, I just can't help but to play with your emotions! [Break] Teenage fantasy, teenage life in the TV dreams. All Americans have left you! What will you do? Teenage fantasy, teenage life in the TV dreams. All Americans have left you! What will you DO!? ----------------------------------------- I picked these lyrics out by ear since nothing online gives me an accurate result. These are probably the most accurate results l could find. I think I know this song's meaning. A mentally unstable teen is working for a T.V. show kind of like iCarly, but she gets underpaid. The director constantly manipulates, abuses, and plays with her emotions. She is about to snap but constantly reminds herself to keep her sense of humor. She has a gun in her apartment but is trying to keep composure. Eventually, when she has "lost her sense of humor," she snaps and kills the director on-stage.

My favorite version of this otherworldly beautiful and touching song. In his restraint, Nick belied the vast depth of emotion beneath the surface of his music. And yet, somehow, he seems to express some heretofore inexpressible truth, as if giving voice to the very joy which underlies all Creation.

Soulful, poetic, beautifully vulnerable, timeless. He really poured his soul from somewhere deep inside to be able to make music that transcends time and makes it otherworldly and so beautiful. The Pink Moon album has to be up there as 1 of the greatest albums ever made. I feel so honored that i was allowed to 'find' the music of Nick Drake over 20 years ago. Like someone who mentioned in a comment about Nick Drake which i will never forget. They said "That God will always find a way for people to discover the music of Nick Drake". About 24 years ago, i walked into an independent record store when at that exact moment there was a song playing (which turned out to be Cello Song), i loved the song, it just hit me in my stride immediately. In my ignorance i thought it was a Donovan song i had'nt heard (I have a number of Donovan albums and i thought the voice sounded a bit like Donovan) I walked to the counter and asked the shop assistant which Donovan album was this from. The assistant smiled and explained to me that it was Nick Drake. I left the store having bought the Way To Blue compilation. I was blown away on first listen and played it endessly. After that i knew i had to get his albums and learn all about this incredible songwriting, guitar playing genius i had been 'gifted'. I bought Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter and the incredible Pink Moon album, and also some compilations with demos and rare tracks. Just like that comment by someone about Nick Drake, i truly believe that God, or the creator, or whatever you want to call it, found a way for me to find the music of Nick Drake. I feel honored when i listen to my Nick Drake albums. His beautiful music tranceds all time and the sound from his guitar and voice has a soulful, poetic vulnerability to it, which can give you goosebumps or make you cry. God, Creator or fate will find a way for every passing generation to find the beautiful music of Nick Drake.🙏🎶💯

Nick is a genius and I guess nobody cares here, but this is by no means what is usually meant by guitarists as fingerpicking - I think you could call it just "arpeggio" or at best "finger-style"

You’re probably gonna get shit for this by a bunch of morons, but a rapper sampled this song in his version ‘Endless Sea’. Think what you want about the attention brought to the song, personally I think it gives good exposure to Lisa Ono and helps keep her amazing music alive. That’s all I have to say about that
